Sanofi's People Excellence team is part of the North America People & Culture organization. The mission of the team is to execute the global strategy and processes with a market focus, providing People & Culture delivery excellence. This role will be part of the North America People & Culture Leadership Team.

The Head of People Excellence, Canada will be responsible for deploying a unified People & Culture local strategy that supports our company's business objectives and the Global CoEs strategic initiatives, enhance employee engagement, and fosters a high-performance culture.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced People & Culture (P&C) Leader to lead our People Excellence team serving as a trusted partner within People & Culture and with stakeholders to ensure end to end excellence in service delivery. This is a key role responsible for delivering on the People Excellence model and leading the continuous improvement, harmonization, and simplification of policies and operations within People & Culture. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, knowledge of labour relations, appetite for AI and innovation, and a passion for cultivating a positive workplace culture and developing people.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the People Director, North America to understand the implications of the Company's people strategy and plan on service delivery initiatives.
  • Ensure the deployment of One P&C strategy, business strategy and P&C change and as such sits at the Canada Country Council.
  • Focus on strategic activities, such as talent & leadership development, culture, and DE&I for the market, working with CoEs to implement at a local Canada level.
  • Ensure talent strategy deployment: Partner with the Canada Country Council to support their individual development.Review the Country Council succession depth to ensure appropriate talent density, in partnership with Global People Business Partners and Talent Management leads.
  • Partners with leaders and Talent Acquisition CoE on senior leadership hires for Canada and on hires into roles which help to build deep skill/knowledge in a critical capability area aligned to strategic plans.
  • Own the global P&C support for employees and line managers through your People Excellence team and Hubs and though country coordination.
  • Coordinate and lead all P&C delivery and operational matters within the market.
  • Partner with the respective leadership teams to holistically shape and enable the business priorities by driving the people agenda.
  • Drive change agenda and key projects, at market level within global frame.
  • Manage the relationship with People Services at local level, with a focus on improving service experience and efficiency, and working in partnership with Business operation to reinforce our hub strategy.
  • Own the Labour Relations
  • Is accountable for P&C compliance within market and local P&C policies.
  • Manage P&C budget for Canada.
  • Has direct accountability over the following functions: People Excellence Partners, People Excellence CoE Team, Labour Relations and Leave Management. Coordinates with CoEs (Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning, DE&I, Rewards & Performance) and with People Business Partners supporting Canada.
    • Lead and continuously improve operational P&C support to manage service delivery end to end in One P&C Operating Model (One PCOM) to improve the employee and manager experience.
    • Review and analyze One Support data to identify gaps and areas of improvement.
    • Owner of market P&C policies, driving harmonization and simplification
    • Build strong relationships with a matrix of senior stakeholders across P&C and the business - be a key bridge of effective interaction and connectivity.
    • Work collaboratively across teams to share insights and understand best practices, compliance, and market challenges. With the Head of People Excellence US, identify and assess needs to feed into the overall People Excellence model, delivering consistency on priorities.
    • May manage third party relationships to support delivery of operational services.
  • Function as outside Ambassador of Employer Branding promoting People & Culture Sanofi initiatives taking part in selected events and associations.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of HR experience, including leading & developing high performance teams
  • Proven experience in Labour Relations, managing operations, culture transformation, change management and leadership development.
  • Great leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, influence, collaborate and impact decision at all levels.
