About the job
Within Sanofi, the Procurement function is a powerhouse maximizing savings to fund the company's future growth. The Chief Procurement Officer is reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, member of the sanofi executive committee. The Procurement organization is divided into five Domains (Manufacturing & Supply, Marketing & Sales, Professional Services, Scientific & Medical and Digital) leveraging Global Procurement Operations and the Procurement Center of Excellence & Transformation. The yearly spend coverage is around 15B€ with a special focus on Procurement excellence, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability. Closely collaborating with Finance, Business Operations and Business Units, Procurement is instrumental in achieving cost efficiency and savings. Procurement plays a critical role in optimizing Business Operational Impact with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. It forges strategic partnerships with suppliers, prioritizing innovation and data driven solutions.
Within the Digital Domain, the Head of Sourcing Operations oversees a team of Global Buyers assigned on sourcing initiatives aiming to contribute to the achievement of the goals of the Digital Domain.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Governance
- Understands and supports the domain orientations derived from the strategies defined by the Category Management and Procurement Business Partners, in close collaboration with the procurement network and stakeholders.
Operations Management
- Manage a pool of Global Buyers
- Support Global Buyers, during and after onboarding, on processes, tools, methodologies.
- Collect and qualify the sourcing initiatives captured/defined by Business Partners and Global Lead Buyers
- Assign the right resources depending on the criticality/complexity of the sourcing initiatives.
- Assign Global Buyers on transversal initiatives: M&A&D, ESG, Preferred Suppliers, Payment Terms etc.
- Ensure execution and implementation of global contracts and strategies
- Follow the delivery of the sourcing projects in a timely and effectively manner
- Maintains comprehensive understanding of Procurement Policies/Processes related to Risk/CSR/Compliance, and ensures that these are adhered to by relevant team members
- Identifies non-compliant processes and defines appropriate corrective measures Audit management.
- Ensure that Global Buyers run a robust Supplier Management with business reviews & performance management.
- Ensure mastery of Procurement technical excellence (TCO, SRM, Market Intel, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, HSE, compliance, quality...),
- Work closely with procurement services to leverage as much as possible the middle and back-offices services
Stakeholder Management
- Ensure with Global Procurement Operations (Country Procurement Heads), the proper business partnering in countries & regions, as it pertains to their respective categories,
- Engage upfront Senior regional leaders of Global Business Units and Support Functions
- Leverage CPH to ensure procurement strategies are applicable at local level
Project management office and monitoring
- Act as a pivot within the Domain to orchestrate transversal initiatives
- Track, measure and communicate progress of Digital Domain Procurement priorities for the upcoming year through KPIs (savings/value capture, ESG,...)
- Prepare performance reviews and address proactively delays or low performance
- Propose proactively continuous improvement plans
- Act as the initial point of contact with Procurement back and middle office (named "Procurement Services" part of Business Operations)
- Communicate regularly on the Domain's success on internal media (Viva/Yammer etc.)
- Prepare executive communication together with Domain head, Digital Procurement Business Partners and category managers
About you
Experience
8 plus years' experience in Procurement or related field (buyer, sales, partnership, outsourcing, project manager etc.
Soft Skills/ Technical skills:
The position requires sourcing professional skills with a strong ability to develop relationships within and across the different lines of business and throughout the Procurement organization, including transversal / project management skills in a multi-cultural environment.

- Transversal Management skills are required for this position

- High sense of Ethics, Business integrity and compliance in doing business
Education
Minimum Master's degree from an accredited College or University
Languages
Fluent in English is a must
