Environment & Industrial Hygiene Lead

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the site's activities compliance to all relevant Environment & Sustainability regulations and standards (local, state, and company). Support the HSE Head to maintain the environment permits. Serve as the primary point of contact with site related environmental regulatory agencies and ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation.
  • Develop and implement site plans in alignment with Sanofi Environment & Sustainability Planet Care policies (Eco-Design, Climate change, waste circularity, water stewardship, Biodiversity...).
  • Conduct assessments and mitigate environmental impacts associated with the site's operations: Identify, assess and manage environmental impacts and opportunities.
  • Monitor the environmental performance of the site and oversee the monitoring of environmental parameters, such as air pollution, water and wastewater quality, waste management, and GHG emissions.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of the site, including Eco-design, water stewardship, waste, Biodiversity, Support the the engineering team to optimize the use of the resources and reduce the site's environmental footprint (Energy, PIE, Water efficiency roadmap, etc).
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement initiatives and drive innovation in environmental practices and process improvements to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Leads investigations into environmental severe impacts, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead & promote proactive HSE Culture on environmental topics by developing and delivering training programs on Environment & Sustainability for all employees and stakeholders to guarantee that all employees have the knowledge and capabilities needed for their tasks.
  • gage with environmental external experts (consulting, academies, labs, ...) to ensure that the site have all the environmental capabilities in line with the site responsibilities on environmental topics.
  • Monitor/Report Environment & Sustainability local performance and trend (incl culture maturity index) to the SLT and above the site senior management to identify trends, assess performance, and make data-driven decisions. Ensure quality and timeliness of the reporting of environmental data.
  • Ensure the site's activities compliance to all relevant Health and Hygiene regulations and standards (local, state, and company).
  • Lead and monitor the exposure assessment programs (API, CMR, OEB 4 &5, Chemicals handling, biological agents, Noise, Ergonomic, etc) and drive management reviews.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential Health and hygiene hazards and work closely to the team to solve issues and implement mitigation strategies.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • Exposure to IH control methods and Environmental Control measures to reduce Carbon foot print and Environmental regulatory Compliance.
  • Master level of proficiency in term of Environmental sustainability.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in term of product stewardship.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE field.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in term of product stewardship.
  • Master level of proficiency in management system, Regulatory knowledge, Matrix management, Problem solving, Project management, striving for results and ability to influence.
  • Direct management and transversal management skills. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong abilities to coach and animate to drive transformation and Health & Hygiene performance.

Qualifications:
  • Qualification Required: Engineering/Science graduate or Post graduate preferably with environmental science. Plus advance course in HSE approved by Inspectorate of Factories and Boilers Govt. Goa.
  • Should be Registered by Inspectorate of Factories and Boilers Govt. Goa as " Safety Officer"
  • Working experience in Industrial Hygiene and Environmental aspects. level of proficiency in term of Occupational Health, Hygiene, Chemical safety.
