Main responsibilities:
- Lead the R&D Accelerator data strategy & design of solutions for innovative products; through expert knowledge translate high-level business requirements into data models and appropriate metadata, test data, and data quality standards.
- Implements required data foundations architecture and design to meet business use case requirements and expand capabilities including research & early development, CMC, clinical, regulatory and pharmacovigilance.
- Simplify the data strategy by delivering reusable services and cost-saving opportunities in line with the policies and standards of the group.
- Responsible throughout the entire product lifecycle for the end-to-end solution of the product and compliance with enterprise data model and logical data groups.
- Provide clear, continuous, and consistent R&D data architecture leadership at a detailed level within the products.
- Lead and participate in the peer review and quality assurance of project architectural artifacts across Accelerator teams through governance forums. Report key architecture decisions and implications to the architectural governance forums.
- Participate in the supplier selection process, evaluating usefulness and cost of products and making appropriate recommendations.
- Expected to carry out core accountabilities with high level of supervision for complex tasks.
- Create and maintain current- and target-state accelerator data architectures.
- Ensure technology solutions are in alignment with enterprise data architecture principles and target state.
- Work with Digital teams, business analysts and data analytics teams to understand data needs and develop solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, insights, and analytics.
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity and privacy of protected health information (PHI).
- Oversee third party architecture designs.
- Ensure Agile Dev/Ops alignment to architecture implementation in compliant and consistent manner with the Accelerator's strategy.

Key Requirements:
- Understanding of life sciences/pharma.
- Solid years of experience in R&D, working with comprehensive data architecture.
- Experience with data-processing systems (OLTP vs. OLAP - normalization vs. denormalization), plus capacity to go deeper - into data modelling itself.
- Experience oversee the full lifecycle of R&D projects, from architecture design through implementation, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure seamless delivery.
- Experience optimizing the utilization of R&D platforms to maximize business value while ensuring operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ability to lead the governance of architecture decisions, ensuring compliance with GxP, HIPAA, GDPR, and internal data quality standards.
- The candidate must be detailed oriented, customer driven, able to work well across time zones on a truly global team, and a team player.
- Knowledge on agile environments, being able to create adaptable, scalable data solutions that enhance R&D capabilities across areas including early development, clinical, regulatory, and pharmacovigilance.
- Strong experience working with data and data platforms.
- Strong experience with Agile based development, preferably with direct experience as Solution Architect.
- Preferred experience with GxP, HIPAA and GDPR regulations.
- Demonstrate professional and reliable behaviour on a consistent basis.
