The Genomic Medicine Unit (GMU) CMC group at Sanofi is dedicated to the establishment of best-in-class manufacturing platforms to support development of life-changing advanced cell and gene therapy products that bring cures to patients with unmet medical need. GMU CMC is committed to building best-in-class CMC technology for successful development of programs. We seek a highly motivated CO-OP student to join Cell Line Development (CLD), as part of a team focused on cell line generation activities for Sanofi's Genomic Medicine Unit (GMU) pipeline.

The successful candidate will plan and conduct experiments towards the development of genome-modified mammalian cell lines through precise host cell line engineering, with an opportunity to develop a diverse skill set in cell line development. This will involve working with cutting-edge genome editing technologies. The Co-op will have the opportunity to work both independently as well as part of the team to achieve CLD development objectives. Through this experience, he or she will gain knowledge on rAAV production platforms, rAAV manufacturing challenges and optimization strategies as well as general drug product development process in an industrial setting.

At this time, Sanofi will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position (i.e. H1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, or another type of work authorization).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with supervisor to plan, design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret experimental results
  • Perform mammalian cell culture experiments including cell maintenance, cell transfection and infection.
  • Document laboratory experiments in a timely manner

Basic Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree program in molecular biology, cell biology or related field with a GPA of ≥ 3.0 (out of 4.0) or equivalent.
  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship/co-op with Sanofi.
  • Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40 hrs./week for the full duration of the internship/co-op
  • Must have permanent US work authorization

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with molecular biology, mammalian cell culture/aseptic techniques preferred
  • Ability to use basic Microsoft office software such as Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Able to communicate with supervisor and team effectively
  • Pay attention to details and possess good organizational skills
  • Critical thinking skills and Innovative, creative mindset
