  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team entrusted with the development of one or more early stage project(s) (typically, pre-clinical to proof-of-concept stage) from the Immuno-Inflammation portfolio. The GPH is responsible to create the development strategy for one or more compounds and is responsible for delivering pre-clinical and clinical studies to support this strategy.
  • This role includes, but is not limited to:
    • Lead the project team(s) in the development and execution of a coherent project strategy (including resource assessment, timelines, and risk mitigation plans).
    • In conjunction with cross-functional team, develop strategy and vision for a product
    • Integrate activities of multi-disciplinary team including, clinical, research, translational, pharmaceutical development, supply chain, etc. in order to advance drug development projects
    • Work with project core team members (clinical, research, regulatory, etc.) to translate target specific biology or clinical knowledge into signal seeking or proof-of-concept studies or to devise preclinical or clinical studies to rationalize the early development plan
    • Incorporate evolving knowledge on new clinical trial design, biomarker strategy and precision medicine into early development plans
    • Lead and articulate the formulation of recommendations to adjust the project strategy in response to evolving pre-clinical, clinical, regulatory, commercial (competitive intelligence) data.
    • Defend the project strategy in front of senor decision-making committees and governance boards in context of Therapeutic fit, mitigation of risk and strategic outlook
    • Lead the execution of project strategy in an expeditious manner and to the highest scientific standards and in full compliance with corporate quality mandates.
  • Furthermore, the GPH may be assigned to other tasks such as:
    • Seeing beyond Immuno-Inflammation to see synergies in other therapeutic areas and/or offer insights.
    • Evaluation of external opportunities

About You

Basic Qualifications:
  • Advanced scientific or medical degree (e.g. MD, PhD, PharmD)
  • Expertise in clinical-phase drug development, Immuno-Inflammation and pharmaceutical medicine
  • 5+ years Industry experience in development
  • Cross functional leadership experience and work in complex stakeholder environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • In depth knowledge and proficiency in pre-clinical, translational, or clinical immunology or related clinical discipline such as Gastroenterology, Dermatology or Rheumatology.
  • Understanding of attributes/requirements/goals for development of compounds in ph 1 to Launch
  • Prior significant responsibility for (or playing a major contributory role in) creating and driving an overall program plan
  • Excellent communication capabilities (oral and written) and persuasive presentation/negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership of a team in a matrix environment and accomplishment of timely & effective plans
  • Demonstrated ability to drive project milestones and work with a global product team with key functional groups
  • Prior contribution to the successful development of compounds through phases of clinical research on a global basis
  • Demonstrated interest and agility to incorporate evolving knowledge and technology into project strategy
  • Drive to action, resilience, ability to manage ambiguity
  • Ability to interact productively with and attract top external investigators
