About Our Team:
The Engineering Sciences Center continually advances its S&T capabilities to ensure enduring mission relevance and impact. We seek to drive understanding and innovation by integrating theory, computational simulation, and experimental discovery and validation across length and time scales to assess complex physical phenomena and systems for our national security mission. The center stewards a breadth of disciplines for the laboratory including Thermal, Fluid, Aero, and Fire Sciences as well as Structural Dynamics, Shock Physics, and Solid Mechanics. Work in the center spans the RDA spectrum, with fundamental discovery and advanced diagnostics applied to highly integrated full scale physical and computational simulation of engineered systems subjected to extreme environments.
Non-Destructive Environments and Diagnostics (1529) is responsible for developing and employing transformative non-destructive evaluation methods for ND and national security applications. The team consists of experts in capabilities such as radiography and computed tomography, ultrasound, eddy current, dye penetrant, and microwave. Deliverables span the full research-development-application spectrum with a focus on weapon systems and components throughout the stockpile lifecycle.
Posting Duration:
This posting will be open for application submissions for a minimum of seven (7) calendar days, including the 'posting date'. Sandia reserves the right to extend the posting date at any time.
Security Clearance:
