What Your Job Will Be Like:
Are you passionate about your work and want to join a dynamic team that solves challenging issues? If so, you could be the highly motivated Operations and Engineering Lead we seek to create a strategic vision for Facilities Information Technology systems.
This role includes leading strategic IT projects with high impact, working with ambiguous and complex structures; as well as leaders, customers, and IT partners within centers 4100, 4700, 4900, and 8540 to plan, prioritize, and coordinate Facilities information technology projects. You will use your experience in technical systems integration and systems engineering tools and approaches: modeling, simulation, and visualization.
This role is a strategic liaison between the Sandia Facilities teams and the corporate IT program. You capture customer needs, develop requirements, and work in strong partnership with IT to drive projects to completion. You will implement best practices that improve our return on technology investment.
The qualified individual will be expected to lead and manage the development of small and large technology projects with direct impact on the core enterprise operations and processes.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Plan and direct engineering and technical facilities projects for internal and external customers, coordinating as required with work performed in other internal and external organizations.
- Define requirements, scope, schedules, cost estimates, and work that support mission objectives.
- Apply standard Project Management principles and techniques.
- Identify potential facilities operational risks, develops risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions, and recommends risk acceptance or avoidance for facilities operations.
- Provide leadership and tactical planning for execution of projects and apply technical knowledge to achieve project objectives and work.
- Find opportunities to streamline or automate processes with data systems that create efficient workflow and service delivery.
- Review and validate project requirements with customers.
- Lead status meetings to review and report project progress and health.
- Ensure program/project alignment to strategic objectives.
- Follow established project management, governance, and enabling processes.
- Gather, document, and validate Facilities system requirements including project scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
- Prioritize and run multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate with corporate entities to provide solutions to issues in a timely manner.
- Communicate significant project initiatives and accomplishments.
- Conduct data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
- Ensure programs/project align to performance assurance, risk management, and strategic objectives.
- Recommend addition, expansion, or discontinuance of projects.
The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Salary Range:
$99,400 - $193,600
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus 6 years of relevant experience
- Experience using JIRA software to organize work, create project milestones, map dependencies, or link goals to work.
- Experience in Project Management principles.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
- Project Management Certification (PMP).
- Business Process Management (BPM), Cyber Security, and Systems Administration experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to team across disciplines.

- Possess knowledge and experience in multiple, current information systems relevant to facilities operations (e.g., Maximo, TRIRIGA, EIMS/FileNet, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Newforma).
- Familiar with Sandia corporate information tools, and how the tools may be demonstrated to contribute to business operations.
- Ability to monitor and manage operation budgets, including discretionary spending plans.
About Our Team:
The Facilities and Infrastructure Systems and Analytics department is responsible for data engineering, analytics, technology strategy, and IT portfolio management. We drive operational excellence by applying modern systems engineering and analytical methods to our technology systems and applications. We steward the Facilities IT portfolio by providing centralized management of technology investments, projects, systems, and activities in service of strategic objectives. Our data analytics team applies the science of analyzing raw data to guide and inform operational health, performance, and strategic decision-making. We establish the processes and systems required to assess value, cost, risk, and performance of IT investments. We partner with a diverse set of stakeholders and subject matter experts to select and invest in high-value projects that are synchronized with corporate goals and business.

Security Clearance:
