What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Intern Year Round - Business Undergrad

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Collaborate with MESA management and strategy, to understand and address current and emerging talent needs.
  • Prioritize potential students applying for microelectronics undergraduate and graduate intern positions,
  • Organize the MESA student intern community to achieve common goals, including enhancing our R&D and operational talent base, broadening the national microelectronics talent pipeline, and addressing the unique needs of the nation's only captive fabrication facility (MESA).
  • Foster a sense of community among MESA student interns, encouraging collaboration and engagement.
  • Regularly interact with managers and principal investigators (PIs), presenting information about the SIGMA program to senior leadership at MESA.
  • Build relationships with other student intern programs to understand and implement best practices.
  • Create standard processes and business rhythms to ensure the program is sustainable.

Salary Range:

At Sandia, we value the important work done by our interns and its contribution to National Security. Because of this, our interns earn competitive pay rates. Our pay structure is based on earned credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will be determined during the hire process and included in your offer package. Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited undergraduate program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

    Note: If you have not earned a HS diploma or equivalent, please apply to a high school intern position.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Possess a solid understanding of fundamental business principles and processes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing various business tools effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, enabling clear and concise information sharing.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and contribute effectively within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with a range of business software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong tendency to take initiative and proactively seek solutions to challenges.

About Our Team:

D epartment 5292 is responsible for the integration of the programmatic and operational strategic activities focused on sustaining the MESA capability into the future. We are specifically responsible for the MESA Integrated Program Plan, MESA Supply Chain Risk Management Strategy, and MESA Equipment Managed Care Agreements, in additional to managing the execution of NNSA's Production Operations, Infrastructure and Operations, and Nuclear Industrial Base portfolios within MESA. We work through partnerships with subject-matter experts from across the Laboratory and MESA Production partners to implement, promote, and maintain an integrated, proactive Operational Assurance Program that optimizes enterprise operational and requirements-based performance.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
