What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a SERVICE MECH(STRUCTURAL)
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Inspect buildings to determine type and extent of repair necessary.
- Replace and repair building fixtures and members, with a minimum of direct supervision.
- Requires thorough knowledge of a variety of building materials, lighting and plumbing fixtures and tools.
- Service and repair a variety of plant equipment, structures and office furniture.
- Assist Tradesmen in structural modifications and repairs.
- Also requires lifting 20 to 60 lbs. frequently and exposure to variable work conditions.
- As a condition of employment, Metal Trades positions are represented by the Metal Trades Council (MTC) and represented employees must pay the monthly membership dues or agency fee.

Qualifications We Require:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance.
- According to established procedures and schedules, inspect, install, repair, and replace a variety of building fixtures. Install lighting fixtures, desk lamps, clocks, film screens, mini-blinds and window coverings, paintings, framed posters, plaques, wall charts, chalkboards, sign-out boards, porcelain boards , first aid kits, key boxes, stamp racks, signs, coatracks, hooks, pencil sharpeners, planters; soap, cup, and towel dispensers; gas cylinder racks, hand railings, door locks, stops, and weather stripping; trash receptacles, ashtray mountings, mirrors, scotchcal and metal signs, windows, and similar items.
- Furnish and install a wide variety of shelving, flipper doors and work surface accessories such as tack boards, task lights, pencil, and tub file drawers.
- Repair office furniture and design and manufacture replacement parts as needed.
- Repair holes in wood and concrete floors and walls, door latches; locks and hinges, ladder safety pads and feet, furniture casters and glides, typewriter stands, chair armrests, bumpers, frames, lockers, stopped sinks, and similar items.
- Replace bathroom fixtures, furniture glides and casters, carpet runners, incandescent lamps, floor tiles and ceiling panels, and similar items.
- Repair and replace metal ceiling grid; install special metal brackets; read sketches and drawings; repair and replace stair treads. Assemble and repair computer furniture and work stations.
- Perform structural building preventative maintenance that includes: door and window hardware such as hinges, replacement closures, thresholds, handles, latches, locks, hasps and weather-stripping. Assist Tradesmen in dismantling and repairing complicated structures and making structural modifications.
- Perform miscellaneous duties such as moving furniture and equipment that may require the use of forklifts, hand trucks, and dollies.
- Spot paint in order to complete maintenance tasks. Requisition materials and supplies, maintain simple work records, and keep areas in - clean and orderly condition
Qualifications We Desire:
- Experience working in a team environment
- Familiarity with the common somputer-operating environment.
- Active Department of Energy "L" or "Q" clearance.

About Our Team:
The Structural Services Team provides preventative and corrective maintenance on building structural systems and equipment. This includes fabrication, installation, overhaul or repair of cranes, hoists. This team is also responsible for locksmith services, shop and field painting services and supporting Mechanical Utilities team activity.

Security Clearance:
