What Your Job Will Be Like:

Sandia National Laboratories' Facilities Express (FE) department, situated among the larger Facilities and Infrastructure (F&I) Services team, has an opening for a Facilities Engineering Project Manager. Project managers within FE collaborate across SNL and the vendor community to implement construction projects and infrastructure services supporting the Sandia-New Mexico site.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Work within the larger F&I Services team to determine how best to implement a construction or service order requirement.
  • Engage with engineering, maintenance, and project personnel to develop executable requirements for construction and service orders.
  • Make technical contributions through capturing and developing technical requirements, accurately presenting issues and solutions, and acting as a conduit for information sharing and decision making across several functional areas.
  • Prioritize and balance competing activities.
  • Facilitate and participate in regular construction or service order status meetings.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Salary Range:

$81,900 - $157,500

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture or relevant field; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Current, active DOE L-level security Clearance or equivalent (i.e. DoD Secret)

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Knowledge and background in one or more engineering fields, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture or related technical field.
  • Knowledge of Building Codes.
  • Ability to manage technical projects.
  • Proficiency in tools and applications commonly employed in project management activities.
  • Knowledge of management practices, assurance processes, business operations, fiscal and scheduling systems, and acquisition standards.
  • Teaming skills, including the ability to work effectively with other organizations, project sponsors and customers, and suppliers.
  • Organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Familiarization with interior furniture and architectural space modifications.
  • Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy.

About Our Team:

Sandia National Laboratories' Facilities Express (FE) department is situated among the larger Facilities and Infrastructure (F&I) Services team. We collaborate across SNL and the vendor community to implement construction projects and infrastructure services supporting the Sandia-New Mexico site.

Posting Duration:

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
