Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Brand Marketing Design (Brand Creative) and Governance the Creative Director is a U.S. leadership role responsible for creative strategies and initiatives designed to accelerate Samsung's brand marketing through impactful design. Our ideal candidate is passionate about creative and design excellence and understands its importance to build a premium brand experience. Areas of responsibility include:

The Creative Director is responsible for leading the creative work across the in-house design studio as well as inspire external agencies to consistently produce exceptional concepts and final creative work.

  • Manage the brand calendar campaign workflows to maximize the productivity and quality of work from the creative staff, helping ensure that deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Manage multiple projects from concept through to completion, working with both in-house resources and third-party vendors.
  • Develop and review creative briefs that provide strategic insight(s) and creative inspiration.
  • Leads the creative efforts and reviews and evaluates design comps, storyboards, graphic concepts, and final deliverables.
  • Promote a culture of creative quality and accountability and ensures creative deliverables meet our standards of excellence.
  • Review all LOB/SEA campaigns and oversee they are ON BRAND guidelines and offer consultancy on how to improve.
  • Prepare content and analyses for recurring and ad hoc senior leadership meetings that drive actionable decision making and recommendations for the organization.
  • Facilitates and participates in the ideation, writing and execution of original and iconic creative concepts in response to briefs, objectives or goals.
  • Provides leadership and professional development to department staff.
  • Mentors and trains team members, write performance reviews, and allocate work.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience or 10+ years' experience and master's degree.
  • Must have an agency background or justifiable equivalent.
  • Portfolio must include all digital (social, mobile, web) work and campaign work.
  • Must be conceptual/an idea person as well as a hands-on writer.
  • Solid knowledge of steps required in creative development process provides guidance to achieve creative direction; gives timely and helpful coaching; and produces all work in a timely, cost-effective manner.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams and establishing effective working relationships with executives in varied areas, including global HQ counterparts.
  • Ability to lead complex projects, and work effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Detailed communicator with both written/verbal abilities to direct teams in clear, concise and calm manner.
  • High energy works with a sense of urgency, highly responsive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solver with optimistic attitude & passion for delivering results.
  • Excellent people-management and coaching skills.
  • Proven mentoring, supervisory, and team-building skills.
  • Hybrid work but must be able to travel.
