Position Overview:
The Account Manager - Builder Channel will oversee the implementation of all sales programs and pricing (quote management) with local market home appliance builder distributors. The position is responsible for training all builder distributor sales personnel and working with outside builder distributor sales personnel in closing new business opportunities with home builders, multifamily projects, and remodeling companies. The account manager has the responsibility to ensure all sales programs are known to distributor personnel and are leveraged to drive our business across the assigned territory that covers the Austin and San Antonio area.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Achieve current annual sales targets while positioning the business for continued growth.
  • Enable builder distributor sales teams with knowledge about the Samsung home appliance brand, value proposition, performance, and features of Samsung products and services.
  • Review products and programs with new builders, multifamily developers, general contractors, design centers, and interior designers along with builder distributor sales personnel.
  • Develop and utilize in-depth knowledge and expertise with regard to existing/new single and multifamily construction within the assigned territory.
  • Identify business opportunities for distributor sales people and work with them to develop business relationships and close contracts.
  • Execute a regular meeting with assigned builder distributor showrooms, outside sales teams, and schedule appointments with prospective builders and multifamily companies in the territory.
  • Manage quote pipeline within Salesforce and ensure business pipeline is forecasted properly.
  • Expand and maintain showroom display presence across the assigned builder distributor showrooms.
  • Provide competitive market intelligence feedback to the Regional and National Sales Director.

Skills and Qualifications

Background/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 6+ years of direct experience or equivalent industry experience.
  • Progressive sales career working with the home building and remodeling industries, preferably in the home appliance industry.
  • History of exceeding challenging sales quotas while overcoming obstacles.
  • Known to be a thought leader within a high-performing sales team.
  • 70% of time involved in selling activities (face-to-face with trade customers) with 30% in the home office conducting sales administration activities.
  • Ability to build and cultivate strong relationships with builder distributor personnel, home builders, developers, and contractors.
  • Possess solid time management and organizational skills.
  • Excels in multi-tasking, responsiveness, attention to detail, and follow-up.
  • Ability to utilize various tools to hunt for new business opportunities.
  • Strong business negotiation experience.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform job requirements independently.
  • Product training expert on home appliances and smart home connectivity .
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills, Salesforce experience a plus.
  • Utilizes marketing support materials to increase share of the Samsung brand.
  • Communicates product forecasting needs to the supply chain team.
  • Become an active member of local industry associations such as NAHB, NKBA, and NARI, attend meetings and join select committees.
  • Participates in regional or national trade shows.
  • Role will cover Austin and San Antonio, Texas and must be able to travel 40%-50% within the territory.
  • Must reside in the Austin or San Antonio area.
