Reporting to the SVP Solutions of ICE, the Industry Advisor team is a key part of the Industrial, Consumer, and Energy team. Our primary role is to accelerate Salesforce growth by solving real problems, identifying optimal solutions and building deep trust with both internal and external stakeholders. Our deep experience, insights and innovative approach is the secret sauce for Salesforce's sales and solutions teams. We bring the customer and industry lens to everything we do, ensuring Salesforce is seen as a thought leader, strategic partner and subject matter expert in the industries we support in order to drive more opportunities.
Role Description
We are seeking a dynamic leader to join our Advisory team as the Industry Advisor Team Leader. This encompasses the industry segments for Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy & Utilities, and Retail & Consumer Goods. In this role, you will collaborate with the existing IA team to define the strategy for the AMER market. Your responsibilities will include building, mentoring, and retaining a high-performing team, staying abreast of industry trends, and understanding the importance of targeted messaging in the ICE markets. Additionally, you will engage with customers, collaborate with field leadership teams on strategic customer engagements, approaches, customized enablement, and localized initiatives. As an advisor to C-level executives at brands, your role will involve ensuring that we effectively listen to the voice of the customer and build lasting relationships throughout pre-sales, during the sales cycle, and post-sales. Overall, the role combines strategic alignment, leadership, and team development to drive success in a fast paced Commercial selling environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in key functions such as sales, e-commerce, marketing, operations, data strategy, and customer service. You should possess a deep understanding of company operations, pain points, and opportunities across the various ICE industries and sub-verticals. Furthermore, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of industry trends and how they impact brands and consumers.
You will play a vital role in serving as an evangelist for the IA Team, nurturing relationships with regional sales teams and working in tandem with regional Industry Business Development, Sales, BVS, Marketing, Enterprise Architecture, and Solution Engineering Teams. Leveraging the Global Industry Marketing and go-to-market teams, you will drive a consistent strategy.

The core responsibilities will include:
Industry Experts - Leverage deep industry experience to bring a Salesforce agnostic perspective on areas of the industry. Focus on sub-vert and timely topics to elevate customer conversations, increase field acumen and create internal and external conversation with influential leaders in the industry
Customer and Exec Engagements - The leader will bring a wealth of experience in large scale transformation, value creations and business justification. Looking to help shape our industry go to market approach and big deal creation and execution. The candidate is experienced in technical discussions and executive decision making process.
Stakeholder Alignment - Partner with ICE OU leaders and their business partners to ensure we are aligned to their priorities and strategies in an effort to craft customized and prioritized solutions to customer engagements.
Account Strategy - Trusted advisor and partner to the sales teams in creating relevant, customized solutions and engagements for key accounts. We partner with internal stakeholders to translate the needs of our customer into relevant Salesforce solutions to solve their biggest needs.
Success Criteria:
- Help Salesforce exceed the ICE ACV target for the fiscal year
- Successful launch and adoption of industry clouds, exceeding the ACV target
- Successful launch and adoption of industry solutions
Minimum Requirements:
- Industry expertise working in, owning a P&L for, or consulting and implementing technology for the Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy & Utilities, or Retail & Consumer Goods industries
- Managerial experience with geographically dispersed teams with a variety of experience levels and competencies
- People and organizational leadership of a high performing team with varied cross business demands
- Be proficient in overall industry challenges and technology trends, and have significant in-depth knowledge and experience in translating trends into successful brand strategies. Understand challenges and opportunities across sub verticals and how digital transformation can improve results.
- Scale organizational programs that improve productivity, expertise, and cross-collaboration
- Embody and champion Salesforce values and provide exemplary leadership
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills in both small and large scale settings - internal and external audiences.

- The Leader must be able to support the team by providing guidance on sales strategies, approaches to solve specific problems, as well as represent their team's needs to Salesforce's executive leadership team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external senior stakeholders.
- The Leader should have a genuine interest in developing/mentoring the careers of team members by providing constructive feedback and coaching to elevate their success.
- The Leader should have a working understanding of the Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy & Utilities, and Retail & Consumer Goods industries to provide the best support and point of view for strategic pursuits.
Preferred Requirements:
- Proven success in a matrixed environment
- Experience and demonstrated success across multiple organizations in the industry
- Membership and preferably active position in leading industry associations
- Broad Salesforce technology skills are highly desired
- Ability to leveraging complex data insights to drive resourcing, skills strategy and measure success of initiatives
- Implementing and overseeing performance management processes for high performing teams, including setting performance goals and conducting regular performance evaluations

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $297,500 to $397,880.
For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $297,500 to $397,880.

For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $297,500 to $397,880.
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
