SVP Engineering MC Intelligent Insights

Our Marketing Cloud is looking for a Senior Vice President of Engineering. Marketing Cloud creates Enterprise SaaS tools that allow companies to communicate with billions of users every year. This role will focus on Data and Intelligence. The successful leader will demonstrate experience in leading a SaaS enterprise platform that creates data, ML, and AI experiences for non-technical users. The SVP Engineering has a strong technical background with knowledge of data platforms, distributed systems, and ML/AI. This leader understands how to create the right measures to execute successfully for a high scale product with competing priorities while inspiring a large team.

The ideal candidate is a senior engineering executive with a proven track record of successfully leading and growing multi location teams in delivering complex systems and products. The candidate should have demonstrated experience working with other teams and leading through influence.

Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill the role as the leader of data and intelligence for Salesforce's Marketing Cloud Engineering group - mentoring, growing, and running a world-class, high functioning, highly productive, agile, inclusive, motivated, and distributed engineering organization.
  • Connect with our customer's needs, and closely partner with the product organization to build a vision and roadmap that meet business goals and revenue targets, while aligning on objectives, priorities, trade-offs, and risks.
  • Implement best engineering management and organizational development practices as we continue to scale.
  • Be deeply involved in driving architecture, execution, and delivery.
  • Make and own critical decisions and be proactive in foreseeing and resolving issues.
  • Ensure teams are accountable and have clear priorities and adequate resources.
  • Build a world class engineering team: Foster and facilitate the professional growth and development of our engineering staff as well as lead effective cross-functional collaboration across groups within the organization.
  • Build organizational capability within these teams by recruiting and retaining outstanding talent and providing mentoring, training (internal and external), and other opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence and service ownership.
  • Collaborate with our Marketing Cloud go-to-market team to prioritize and drive the Marketing Cloud product vision into the market.

Minimum Requirements:

15+ years of executive-level experience in building and leading impactful software engineering teams with solid delivery focus and a consistent record of high-impact results.

Experience partnering with the Product organization in co-creating executable product vision and roadmaps.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Ability to work under tight deadlines while being flexible and responding to changing business and technical conditions.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $356,000 to $473,000.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $356,000 to $473,000.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
