As a Senior/Lead Product Designer on the Design Systems team at Salesforce, you will play a pivotal role in evolving our design system across our suite of products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and other designers to ensure consistency, usability, accessibility, and delightful user experiences across Salesforce applications. You'll help shape the North Star vision of our design system with an AI-first approach. You'll get to work on a world-class team with some of the brightest minds in the industry and will have fun while doing it!
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and maintenance of our next-gen design system and Figma libraries that scale across Salesforce products
- Focus on technical aspects of building a Figma library such as component intricacies and file hygiene
- Define and document design guidelines, best practices, and standards to ensure cohesive experiences
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, writers, and engineers to integrate the design system into product development workflows
- Partner with UX researchers to validate design decisions through user testing and feedback loops
- Mentor and coach junior designers, fostering a culture of design excellence and collaboration
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity within the design system to ensure all users have a seamless experience
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design systems
Experience / Skills required
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent practical experience
- For Senior Designer, minimum 7+ years of experience as a Product Designer, with a focus on design systems and UX/UI design
- For Lead Designer, minimum 10+ years of experience as a Product Designer, with a focus on design systems and UX/UI design
- A portfolio demonstrating a strong foundation in design systems, visual design, and interaction design
- Proven track record of successfully leading design system initiatives from concept to implementation
- You're an expert at building Figma components and libraries and consider yourself a "Figma Wiz"
- You stay up to date and thoroughly understand all of Figma's features such as auto-layout, constraints, variants, variables, interactivity, and all the other bells & whistles
- You have excellent File hygiene and naming conventions that translate for engineering consumption
- Experience managing multiple libraries, publishing them to a large organization, and managing change requests
- Expert prototyping capabilities in Figma to convey component interactions and page-level flows
- Excellent understanding of interaction design principles and best practices. Experience building a design system that works on web, mobile, and tablet application interfaces
- Ability to communicate design concepts effectively and advocate for user-centered design principles
- Strong understanding of development processes and tools. Know how to speak "developer" and have a high-level understanding of HTML, CSS, IDEs, GitHub, etc
- Produce detailed design specifications with engineers
- Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Lead cross-functional brainstorms, discussions, and design reviews.
- Able to produce results independently as well as collaboratively in a team
- Ability to collaborate on a team that works around the world in various timezones
- Power to influence others and build consensus, while dealing with ambiguity
- Self-motivated, a good communicator, and able to balance great design with meeting short deadlines

- Experience with CRM or enterprise software
- Experience creating user-led data visualization solutions
- Experience with data management software
- Experience with graphic design and print design
- Experience conducting User Research
- Experience working with and presenting to external customers
