The Solution Engineer is eager to demonstrate their technical and sales skills. They solicit business requirements, partner with Account Executives to develop a sales strategy, successfully demonstrate solutions that provide business value, and drive the solution efforts that lead customers to a functional and technical Tableau choice.

The Solution Engineer must have a strong desire to demonstrate their technical and/or sales skills, including the ability to solicit business requirements, develop a technical sales strategy, configure and successfully demonstrate the solutions that address these requirements and provide business value.

What roles are we looking to fill in Solutions Engineering?

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with clients and internal teams to align innovative strategies with technology solutions across Salesforce products.
  • Business Development: Engage in business development, operations, IT strategies, and executive-level product demonstrations.
  • Problem Solving: Define, assess, and solve complex business problems using research and innovative ideas.
  • Innovation Management: Facilitate decision-making by evaluating solutions and driving consensus among stakeholders.
  • Connected Experiences: Showcase connected experiences through software demos, future state customer journey strategies, and long-term IT roadmaps.
  • Solutioning: Assist customers with discovery, analysis, and recommendation of strategic solutions through live product demonstrations.
  • Customer Needs: Identify customer business needs and position analytics solutions to meet objectives.
  • Custom Solutions: Build and present customized analytics solutions and demonstrations to various customer personas.
  • Architecture Understanding: Convey a deep understanding of customer architecture related to Tableau and Analytics solutions, including data pipeline upstream of analytics.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional solution guides and align them with opportunity strategy.
  • Customer Experience Storytelling: Develop and deliver customer experience narratives with analytics technologies.
  • Training and Certification: Participate in product, sales, and procedural training and certifications.
  • Travel: Travel as required based on territory alignment and region. Positions may be office-based, office-flexible, or remote dependent on team, with the aim to provide the most flexibility for our employees.

Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
  • Hands-on knowledge of data analytics and related applications, including data platforms, data loading and transformation solutions
  • Solid oral, written, presentation, collaboration and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in complex sales situations
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of functional and / or technical aspects of predictive AI, generative AI, and any other data pipeline constituents both upstream and downstream of data preparation / visualization such as metadata platforms, data integration / processing platforms
  • Previous experience as a solution/sales engineer for a data or analytics software vendor ; power user or administrator of an analytics solution
  • Understanding of the healthcare payers industry. How payers put together plans, how they sell them, what relationships they maintain with brokers, providers, etc.
  • Tableau Professional Certifications
  • Cloud Industry Certifications (e.g. public cloud infrastructure certs in AWS, GCP, Azure) or Networking / Security certifications

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $93,170 to $188,650.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $84,700 to $188,650.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $93,170 to $188,650.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
