The Einstein GPT Data Science team is looking for a Manager or Senior Manager to lead an exceptional applied science team responsible for developing innovative and revolutionary generative AI technology at scale for Agentforce. Our applied scientists are working on exciting and interesting problems in areas like advanced RAG technologies, Enterprise Knowledge Graphs, Search Relevance, LLM evaluations and testing, feedback-based learning and parameter efficient fine-tuning. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Salesforce AI Cloud leaders to co-create and refine the AI and data engineering strategy and roadmap, with a focus on LLM Evaluations and Testing, RAG & Knowledge Graphs, and intelligent search solutions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop innovative technologies that leverage LLMs to support Autonomous AI Agents and drive them to production
- Prioritize retaining and attracting top talent, continuously invest in the development of high-performing teams, and passionately champion the success of both the team and its individual members.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team, ensuring diverse voices contribute to the development of state-of-the-art AI systems.
- Proactively seek out and implement improvements in team processes and culture, contributing to the overall evolution of the wider engineering organization.
Required Qualifications:
- An MS/PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics or a related field.
- 3+ years of people management experience, leading teams focused on NLP, Computer Vision and/or Generative AI
- 5+ years of industry/applied research experience in deep learning, NLP, recommendation systems, knowledge graphs and LLMs
- Fantastic problem solver; ability to solve problems that the world has not solved before
- Demonstrated track record of cultivating strong working relationships and driving collaboration across multiple technical and business teams
- Experience with Agile development methodologies. Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, continuous integration, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and project management abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a distributed team setting.
- Track record of patents and top-tier papers published in related areas.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $172,000 to $276,100.
