The Research & Insights (R&I) team acts as a strategic thought partner to product, engineering, and go-to-market teams across Salesforce. As a Senior Director, Program Management, you play a pivotal role in leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives within R&I and Technology & Product organizations! You lead programs from beginning to end, ensuring a better workflow, alignment, and more effective communication. Collaborate closely with executives, key partners, and team members across various levels to drive critical programs and activities. You are a trusted advisor to senior leadership to ensure program success. A successful candidate is dedicated, impact-focused, and able to distill intricate problems into actions that drive program planning, development, execution, and business decisions.

In office (San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA) requirements are 36days/a quarter to support customers and/or collaborate with their teams.

Your Impact

  • Work directly with R&I leadership and company to scale our team's functions across the cloud and drive operational effectiveness
  • Drives high performance and accountability, not only within their organization, but across the programs they support, through creation and adoption of the appropriate operating model, KPIs, and processes
  • Seamlessly switch between strategic thinking and operational excellence
  • Drive Steering Committee meetings with key partners for each program to help make key decisions, remove obstacles, and address key program issues
  • Develop strong partnerships with key team members within Research & Insights and our partners across Technology & Product to drive focus on business goals
  • Be a catalyst within the organization, someone who can help advance our Research & Insights org strategy globally and drive others in the organization to change
  • Lead "program/feature" dependencies across multiple teams, functions, divisions, and partners
  • Create a collaborative environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and learning

Requirements

  • 15+ years Program Management of enterprise software/technical/product program management experience at an enterprise technology company
  • 7+ years of conducting and leading SaaS Product/R&D/UX/Research/Design programs; proven understanding of the SaaS business model and its product development lifecycle
  • 5+ years people management experience; proven ability to lead and manage a geographically dispersed, highly talented, and fast-paced team
  • Deep experience with the software development lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile methodologies
  • Experience with Portfolio Management
  • Demonstrated capability to influence, create a compelling vision, and drive alignment across partners and functions to deliver results
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills conducive to driving consensus; able to work in a global cross-functional, matrix management environment
  • Strong organizational, project management, analysis, and communication skills
  • A related technical degree required

Preferred requirements

  • Program Management Professional (PgMP), Project Management Institute (PMI) or similar certification(s)

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $203,000 to $309,700.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $221,500 to $337,800.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
