As a member of the Salesforce Certification team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining role-based and product-based certifications and assessments. You will manage end-to-end certification development and will be responsible for the quality of the assessment and program. You will identify, collaborate with, and maintain relationships with key experts and stakeholders across the company and within the partner community. You will work closely in a team environment to ensure that certifications are aligned with the appropriate enablement and resources. You will contribute to the overall growth of the certification program through your involvement in projects focused on continuous improvement of the infrastructure, tools and processes, communication, and community. You will innovate on the exam development process, while maintaining standards for fairness, validity, and reliability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end exam development process and be responsible for the quality of the content developed.
  • Manage/Lead MQC (Minimal Qualified Candidate) definition for exams
  • Manage/Lead the JTA (Job Task Analysis) process and workshops for exams
  • Facilitate Item Development workshops and Technical Review sessions
  • Review exam performance and conduct in-service analysis as needed
  • Manage timelines, resources, deliverables, and communications for certification development projects. Edit test items and work with the certification development team to ensure that the item-development and editing process is completed in a timely manner, that content fits and fulfills approved examination outline/specifications, and that exam questions are consistent with psychometric standards and English standards of grammar and spelling.
  • Monitor the quality, performance, consumption, and value of certifications and assessments by gathering feedback from and presenting solutions to stakeholders. Respond to feedback from exam candidates and contribute to the overall growth of the certification program and community.
  • Identify, recruit, collaborate with, and maintain a network of Salesforce professionals to act as SMEs who you collaborate with to facilitate item writing, item technical review and approval sessions, psychometric standards review, and user acceptance testing.
  • Innovate the exam development process, incorporating AI and other technologies while maintaining standards
  • Assist with activities related to customer focused Salesforce events, such TrailheadX, Dreamforce, and World Tour events

Certification Development Experience

  • 5+ years of certification development experience.
  • Degree in relevant field such as I/O Psychology, Psychometrics, Measurement/Evaluation, Assessment, or work experience equivalent such as Credentialing.

Required Skills

  • Experience with testing principles and statistical concepts (psychometric analysis) as well as experience writing questions (test items) for certification exams.
  • Able to navigate and balance the needs of the business with the academic application of test development processes and best practices.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, especially with regards to content and item management, version control, statistical performance of scored and unscored items, and exam health.
  • Strong creative thinking, organizational, and project management skills with experience in a fast-paced environment with critical hard-stop deadlines and a demonstrated ability to, with minimal oversight, create assessments about complex topics related to software implementation.
  • Strong team player who supports colleagues and who enjoys communicating, collaborating, and building effective relationships with engineers, product managers, programmers, consultants, and other key stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation, research and develop personas based on a technology or features/functionality, and write, analyze, and edit technical test questions and other materials for clarity.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to review/edit collateral program materials for print and web, and the ability to make effective presentations to stakeholder groups.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Salesforce applications and platform.
  • Proficient with exam development tools like TestToolbox, Webassessor, Caveon, Examity, ITS and others.
  • Proficient with Google docs, Slack, and Quip is a plus.
  • Thrives on quickly learning new products and technologies with minimal direction and have an interest in translating that knowledge into innovative assessment and educational materials.

For Colorado-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $115,600 to $159,000.

For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $127,200 to $174,900.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
