Salesforce Inc. seeks Engineering Manager in Seattle, WA:
Job Duties: Define system solutions, mentor employees, lead development teams, and be responsible for the technical direction of the Messaging API, Email Apps and other cross-channel applications. Play an essential role in allowing our applications to grow, scale and remain highly available in a quickly evolving environment. Work closely with Program Management, Product Management, Quality Assurance and many other teams within SFMC to ensure high quality, feature-rich applications are delivered on time. Oversee the design and development of software according to functional and technical design specifications. Spend approximately twenty-five percent of your time developing software solutions for the team. Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions and express those solutions at a task level. Understand business context to decisions made within and across groups. Respond promptly and professionally to customer escalations. Work with the Build team and Product Ops to ensure smooth and successful deployments of the MC applications to all QA and Production environments. Manage and direct the application development team. Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to employees. Keep employees informed of the various technological changes that are taking place in the organization. Evaluate employee performance, set expectations and goals for team and individual team members, recruit and train team members. *Above address additionally encompasses the following Salesforce locations in the Seattle area: 744 N. 34th St. Seattle, WA 98103, 701 N. 34th St., Seattle, WA 98103, and 929 108th Ave, Bellevue, WA 98004. The permanent position may be offered at any of these locations in the Seattle area. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field, OR Bachelor's degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.
Special Skill Requirements: (1) Data Management; (2) Data Structures; (3) Distributed Systems; (4) ETL; (5) Algorithm; (6) Cloud design considerations; (7) Schema design; (8) Hadoop; (9) Management experience of engineering teams: technical leadership. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.
Salary: $251,576.00 - $306,600.00 per annum.
