Role Description:

An exciting opportunity exists in our MuleSoft Business Development organization for a proven 2nd-line Leader looking to foster their career in a hyper-growth, fast-paced and multifaceted environment.

In this role you will be a leader of leaders, taking responsibility for the outbound business comprised of Pipeline Generation and ACV results. Further, you are responsible for encouraging, mentoring and building teams within the Business Development organization; these teams are essential to our GTM strategy and are accountable for identifying, engaging and creating net new qualified sales opportunities from outbound business development activities. Your ability to partner with senior stakeholders and the supporting functions, including; Field Sales, Marketing, Sales Strategy & Programs, will define your results & success. You will be a critical contributor to the Enterprise sales strategy, providing a healthy and reliable sales pipeline to support the overall sales organization and achieve the region's objectives.

Your Impact:

  • Lead a rapidly growing team of Managers and Business Development Representatives (BDRs) with focus on scaling and evolving the organization.
  • Align the Business Development team with the Field Sales team to ensure tight collaboration
  • Coach and develop Business Development Managers, collaborate with the marketing and sales programs teams on demand generation plans, partner with Sales Management in the region to meet targets and engage with recruitment to hit annual hiring goals
  • Drive rigorous sales development execution, ensuring target attainment, accurate forecasts, and total transparency through operational excellence
  • Inspire & empower individuals to succeed through impassioned management, mentoring, creative sales incentives, and broadcast of results
  • Responsible for recruitment strategy & capacity budget
  • Build and conduct executive presentations for internal and external customers (executive briefings to customers/prospects, internal stakeholders presentations)
  • Promote the organization across the wider business and champion the Sales Development values of trust, personal growth, diversity, giving back and innovation


Your Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of experience in sales management or sales/business development management, preferably in CRM or enterprise applications, with a consistent track record of overachievement of quota expectations
  • Consistent track record of sales success in a similar enterprise software application environment
  • Shown experience successfully leading people to achieve performance goals
  • Successful track record in a high-volume transaction sales environment
  • Outstanding communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent presentation and listening skills
  • Must be able to thrive in a very fast paced environment
  • Experience as a 2nd Line Manager strongly preferred

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $169,975 to $227,305.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
