Overview of Role

The Director, Product Management - Hiring and Employee Engagement reports to the Sr. Director, Product Line Manager in BT ES. The Product Manager is responsible for owning one or more products that may be grouped within a Product Line. The PM determines a strategic vision and roadmap to drive product strategy to meet Business Partner needs and solve business problems through technology delivery. Responsible for partnering with Engineering, UX, Business, and Stakeholders to determine the product vision, prioritization and translating that strategy to the Product Owner to lead the delivery teams on execution in a way that creates most value for the Employee Success end-user and business. This would align to products in the Employee Life Cycle for Attract, Source, Apply, Assess, Interview, Hire and then Support Operations and Listen & Engage

Key Responsibilities

  • Owns implementation of Product Line Strategy from Product Line Manager into Product roadmap for their respective Product(s) - Salesforce and other 3rd party products would be within their scope.
  • Collaborates with Business Application Owner to define product vision, product backlog and go-to-market strategy.
  • Prioritizes product roadmap initiatives based on business value, implementation effort, timing, and capacity.
  • Establishes PI goals by ensuring Product Owners understand overall-objective (vision). Reviews Product Owners' outputs and provides high-level decisions or escalations.
  • Collaborates with the Product Owners to create a release plan to communicate back to stakeholders and Business Partners.
  • Provides input on solution vision, strategy and development to Delivery Team in partnership with Enterprise Architecture and Engineering.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with Product Owners, Engineering, UX, and Delivery teams to maintain high standards of product/service performance, backlog health, roadmap planning, and Customer Engagement.
  • Reviews overall progress and delivery of solutions and communicates solution delivery targets, milestones and achievements to PLM, Stakeholders, UX, Customers, Business Partners, and BPG Portfolio Manager.
  • Works with Portfolio Manager and Business Partner Groups on solution prioritization and resource allocation for cross-team initiatives.
  • Anticipates and plans future business capabilities according to market trends, user and customer feedback, architectural roadmaps, and product/service performance.
  • Manages allocation of capacity to different types of work (KLO, Project/Program, F&E, M&A) within the delivery team to maintain high user experience, product health, scalability, and delivery of committed initiatives.
  • Works with UX research and strategy to build foundational research understanding and design artifacts around comprehensive user understanding. Extend that into wireframes with UX design and engineering that demonstrate the potential of the product vision.
  • Works with Engineering to prioritize incident resolution, tech debt, technology improvements, and innovation.
  • Works with Enterprise Architects to align business capability needs to technology roadmaps and market trends across product platforms.

Key Accountabilities

  • Accountable for owning and driving Business Intimacy between Business Technology and the Business Application Owner, which includes overall relationship health. The relationship must operate as a partnership based on trust and a shared mission to build and deliver value by aligning objectives, interests, and strategies between the two parties.
  • Owns successful delivery of updates to all interested and impacted parties within the Product ecosystem: Business Application owners, stakeholders, customers, leadership, users, etc.
  • Shares market analysis, business feedback, and product strategy with Product Owner to ensure consistent prioritization of product backlog.
  • Define Product Roadmap & Milestones according to priority and capacity of the delivery teams in partnership with Product Owner(s).
  • Coordinates Funding & Deliverables across Delivery teams as needed.
  • Accountable for partnering with Engineering to prioritize incident resolution, tech debt, technology improvements, and innovation.
  • Accountable for partnering with Enterprise Architects to align business capability needs to technology roadmaps and market trends.
  • Accountable for successful delivery of business value to the business with optimal and efficient use of resources to deliver a positive return on investment.
  • Ensures that team uses the corporate task management system
    • Projects are created and linked to Programs
    • Project pages are maintained with most current information

Required Skills/Experience

  • 8 - 10 years of product management experience for HR enterprise-level initiatives
  • 5+ years of Workday or other Hiring ERP equivalent, business process experience, with exposure to other Salesforce applications a plus (Peopleforce, Beamery, etc.) along with Salesforce internal tools (Supportforce, GUS, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience managing and executing Product Roadmap & Milestones according to priority and capacity of the delivery teams in partnership with Product Owner(s).
  • Experience in team leadership and motivating individuals toward higher levels of performance that are aligned with the organization's vision and values.
  • Experience in planning and implementation of cross-functional projects. Effective in influencing, making high-quality decisions, and taking decisive action. Ability to work well under deadlines and juggle multiple priorities. Strong meeting management skills.
  • Project management or related experience with an emphasis in Agile methodologies. Experience with design thinking, agile leadership, and continuous delivery is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly establish and build close working relationships with team members of varying backgrounds and positions within an organization.
  • Solution-oriented, collaborative with a curious mindset, acting as an advocate for continuous improvement. Comfort with ambiguity and motivated to solve complex problems.
  • Customer-service orientation with a passion for Employee Experience.
  • Demonstrates the Salesforce values of Trust, Growth, Innovation and Equality.
  • A related technical degree required.

Other Skills/Preferred Requirements

  • Workday, Product Management Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Expertise in collaboration technologies (Google, SmartSheet, Quip, Slack).
  • Salesforce.com organization and product knowledge. Ranger certification a plus.

In office (Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX or Indianapolis, IN) expectations are 10 days/a quarter to support customers and/or collaborate with their teams.
