DevOps Engineer

Office hybrid in San Francisco, CA

The Network Software team is dedicated to delivering sophisticated software products that provide this seamless experience to our customers.

As our service and platform evolve to fully adopt lights-out operations, single-click deployment to tens of thousands of nodes, and self-healing, self-optimizing services, we must balance these advancements with global scale and traffic distribution to enhance the end-user experience.

We are currently hiring a DevOps Engineer. In this role, you will work on the team responsible for the automation and operation of our Content Delivery Network (CDN) services, ensuring that Salesforce applications are delivered securely and performantly to our enterprise customers.

Your Impact:

You will be a Service Owner with a focus on automation and operations, of the Content Delivery Services for Salesforce.
Work multi-functionally with engineers, product managers, and external partners on the deployment, operations, automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the services.
Own and improve standard processes/methodologies for provisioning, application scaling, configuration management, capacity planning, monitoring, etc.
Laser focus on customer success.
Own daily operational goals and critical metrics with the team.
Participate in the team's on-call rotation to address complex problems in real-time and keep services operational and highly available
Championing a culture and work environment that promotes diversity and inclusion.

Required Skills:

A related technical degree required.
1-3 years work experience in Software Engineering.
Solid analytical & problem solving skills, ability to communicate ideas clearly.
Fluency in Python and Java.
Solid understanding and work experience with fundamental network technologies like DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, and HTTP
Good understanding of Linux Networking.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills:

Working experience and knowledge of Content Delivery Networks
Experience with Containers, Dockers, Kubernetes, Puppet and Terraform.
* Experience in delivering and/or operating services in AWS or another cloud PaaS provider

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $137,100 to $188,600.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
