The Senior Global Credit Analyst is responsible for evaluating the financial health of customers to ensure collectability. This critical role at Salesforce helps minimize the risk of bad debt while supporting healthy working capital and free cash flow. A Senior Credit Analyst must make sound credit decisions to mitigate financial exposure, establish appropriate payment and billing terms,
and understand how contract language impacts collections. The position
requires close collaboration with sales leaders, internal finance teams, collections, and legal stakeholders to facilitate timely deal conversions.
This role demands the ability to stay calm under pressure, assess situations objectively, and make sound decisions, especially in high-stakes environments. A working knowledge of SOX controls and the importance of safeguarding financial data is essential. The position also involves managing global accounts, with a primary focus on the APAC and EMEA regions. Extended hours are sometimes required during the final days of each month, particularly at quarter-end, with occasional weekend work depending on the calendar.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Credit Quote and Case queues
- Handle Payment Terms and Billing Frequency requests
- Oversee Prebill days and Payment Method changes
- Address Payment Plan requests
- Monitor and manage Credit Rating updates
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as needed
- Use data and analytics to understand credit risks and develop proactive strategies
- Collaborate with account teams to set appropriate credit terms
- Work closely with internal and external teams, including Account Executives, Sales Operations, Legal, and Accounts Receivable, to optimize cash flow, reduce AR aging, and minimize bad debt expenses
- Ensure compliance with collection activities and facilitate resolution of related issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable, commercial (B2B) credit, accounting, finance, or credit and collections
- Ability to interpret financial reports from sources like D&B and Moody's
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of collections, credit, accounting, and finance principles
- Experience in assessing portfolio and customer risk
- Strong conflict management and negotiation skills
- Independent and critical thinker, able to make decisions autonomously
- Effective time management and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage at all management levels
- Salesforce experience is a plus
