The Counsel's main responsibility will be to support Salesforce sales and other relevant organizations in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan in structuring commercial transactions, and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. More specifically, the Counsel will:

  • Draft, review and negotiate, with low supervision, main services agreements, professional services agreements, alliances agreements, order forms, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements and other types of agreements with customers in support of sales, customer success and other relevant organizations in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan;
  • Partner with revenue recognition, sales operations, pricing, and other stakeholder teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes;
  • Team up with other members within legal & corporate affairs organization to obtain any required approvals from internal stakeholders and optimize support to the business;
  • Provide legal and commercial support in relation to existing contracts and provide support in the event of any disputes or potential disputes;
  • Assist with localizing and improving standard form agreements and legal processes that are customized for Japan, South Korea and Taiwan;
  • Provide client education and training on relevant legal issues;
  • Assist the company in maintaining and securing compliance with Japan, South Korea and Taiwan laws and regulations;
  • Actively contribute to the Japan, South Korea and Taiwan Commercial Legal team's ongoing development of knowledge, skills and processes;
  • Participate in cross-regional team projects; and
  • Look after yourself, your colleagues and the company's interest.

Required Experiences and Skills

  • Undergraduate LLB or post-graduate JD and admitted to practice law in Taiwan or at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 3 or more years of combined experience in a law firm and/or an in house legal department, including experience negotiating and drafting agreements with or for Taiwanese companies
  • Familiarity with Taiwanese laws and regulations applicable to financial services and public sector industries
  • Articulate, persuasive, and concise written and verbal communication skills in English, Japanese and Mandarin Chinese languages
  • Practical business judgment and a keen understanding that the business teams rely on your expertise and efficiency to close the deal
  • Highly responsive, proactive, autonomous, client service-oriented and can-do attitude
  • A sense of optimism, ownership and commitment to achieving meaningful results
  • Flexible, adaptable, resilient, eager to continually learn and develop professionally
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast and demanding work environment
  • Preference for and an ability to multi-task on a daily basis and even more so when presented with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to quickly establish and consistently maintain collaborative working relationships with internal clients and legal & corporate affairs team colleagues
  • Proactive engagement with right stakeholders at the right time to meet the business needs
  • Strong desire to take initiative and work independently, when needed, to solve problems effectively and efficiently
  • Desire to listen with open mind to others' perspectives to improve own ways and behaviors
  • Enthusiasm for the work and eagerness to learn even in challenging environments
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in the technology industry and familiarity with technical concepts in web applications, cloud computing and AI business

  • Substantial experience in supporting sales organization as an internal client
  • Substantial work experience at a global technology company
  • Familiarity with Taiwanese laws and regulations applicable to web applications, cloud computing and AI business
