THE ROLE
As a Principal Engineer you will help Salesforce Private Equity Firms and their portfolio companies develop and implement strategies to take the digital front-office transformation strategies to an entirely new level. Through collaboration with the portfolio company CxOs, Salesforce product teams, Professional Services, and Partners, you develop unique solutions helping our customers connect with their customers in new ways. Your world is a dynamic, constantly evolving environment where expertise in design, business consulting, and technology is used every day to drive innovation.
You will play a pivotal role in developing innovative digital front-office solutions for our Private Equity owned customers across a variety of industries. As a Principal Engineer you'll work closely with the Private Equity Relationship Management team, Account Executives, Solutions Engineering and Architecture teams to provide domain expertise during the sales process.
Scale is the fuel that drives growth in our organization. You will collaborate with the rest of the Practice to increase the impact of your expertise by providing enablement content, sharing standard methodologies, and delivering innovative tools.
It is important to have a strong understanding of the private equity landscape and the ability to optimally communicate Salesforce value to portfolio company CxOs and private equity operating partners. A solid understanding of the Salesforce platform and ecosystem is also crucial for success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Solve Business Problems - Analyze sophisticated business problems by conducting research and assessments to define the problem, generate innovative ideas, find opportunities, and recommend practical solutions.
Drive Innovation - Bring structure to the client's decision-making process by communicating and evaluating solution options, and facilitating agreement among key team members. You may also help clients establish new decision frameworks and governance processes for sustained value.
Connect the "Art of the Possible" - Deliver software demonstrations, rapid prototyping, and storytelling to show how connected experiences come to life with the Salesforce Data Cloud & AI Solutions. This includes the delivery of executive-level software demonstrations, constructing future state customer journey strategies, and developing long-term IT roadmaps.
Cross Platform Collaboration - As a Specialist, you will apply your understanding of multiple technology landscapes (AdTech, MarTech, CRM, Segmentation, Real-Time Decisioning, Personalization, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Public Cloud) to develop solutions across Salesforce's technology stack and create compelling offerings for PE portfolio companies.
A Teaching Approach - Strive to increase the impact of your knowledge by constantly seeking multipliers, such as developing enablement content, working with aligned teams on approaches, experimenting with products, and conducting internal workshops.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
3+ years experience in solutions engineering/solutions architecture/technical consulting role, ideally in the SaaS space.
Strong verbal and presentation abilities, capable of effectively communicating ideas to clients and prospective clients at all levels of an organization.
Ability to articulate and deliver concepts related to data management, business intelligence analytics, data science, and marketing.
Awareness of technology trends and their impact on clients' businesses

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, MIS or equivalent work experience
Experience in programming languages such as Javascript, Python, and SQL
Broad range of experience in large-scale database and data warehousing technology, ETL processes, analytics and cloud technologies
Experience designing data solutions on cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
Hands-on expertise with analytics tools like Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, etc.
Proven track record to shift clients to alternative solutions when initial solutions are not a fit, with examples to support this
* Validated experience leading strategy and digital roadmap projects in a complex business and marketing environment

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $165,060 to $220,850.
Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
