POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position is responsible for being both a pool and camp attendant. As a pool attendant, you will open or close the pool, ensure all furniture, pools, and pool area are clean prior to opening and closing of the pool, and ensure guest satisfaction throughout the day. As a camp attendant, you will help with the organization of the Kids Camp activities. You will be responsible for the care and organization of children during scheduled activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Greet all guests and members, providing them with towels and a high level of customer service.
- Assist in camp setup, check-in, activities, checkout, and cleanup.
- Have complete knowledge of items available in retail area, able to act as a cashier and to secure the proper payment.
- Ensure camp activities are being completed to the highest quality.
- To complete setting up and breaking down of area as designated by management (i.e. chairs, umbrellas, pool functions, parties, teambuilding, etc).
- Maintain complete safety and cleanliness around pool areas by constantly doing walkthroughs of the pool area.
- Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities and resort-wide activities.
- Lead in daily pool activities for guests, members and Kids Camp.
- Inspect entire pool area, replacing any missing items and/or repairing (when possible) and items needing attention (i.e. umbrellas, chairs, bikes, etc.).

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:
- Adhere to and enforce all Pool and Slide Safety Rules.
- Must be positive, a team player, and passionate about nature and serving guests.
- Must have a passion for dealing with children of all ages.
- Make guests requests your top priority.
- Adhere to hotel safety standards.
- Perform other duties and handle projects as assigned by Manager
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Camp counselor, childcare experience, and customer service experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks while maintaining a pleasant demeanor.
- Ability and desire to teach children of all ages.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of Hotel operations.
May be required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Most work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors.
- Position requires walking; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 200 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning and stocking tasks.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisor, and other employees.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Must have knowledge of and ability to operate all equipment related to the outlet, including, but not limited to, snow cone machine, stereo sound system, and cash terminal.
Certificates/Licenses: CPR and First Aid Certification

- Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
- Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
