POSITION OBJECTIVE

A dual-licensed Spa Esthetician/Massage Therapist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while providing professional skin care services including facials, waxing, and makeup applications, as well as massage and body treatments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Understands and uses universal precautions when providing services. Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent service from taking place.
• Maintains the highest level of product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered.
• Recommends products for home care use with a minimum service to sales ratio of 25%.
• Performs all treatments on services' menu based on current certifications.
• Suggests to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
• Creates and maintains client cards with treatment notes, when appropriate
• Educates guests about individual skin care needs, and retails appropriate home care products.
• Understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to the guests. Answers guest's questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
• Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
• Reports all incidents or accidents to Spa Director.
• Attends mandatory staff meetings and professional trainings
• Provides treatments adhering to Salamander protocols, maintaining the guest's comfort level at all times.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment as necessary.
• Restocks product and linens during shift.
• Informs Spa Director of product needs
• Maintains clean and neat work station during shift, ensuring it is set according to procedures.
• Begins and ends all treatments on time
• Works assigned schedule
• Completes all assigned side work
• Assists staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events.

• High school Diploma or GED
• Maintain a current State of Florida Skin Care license
• Minimum of 1 year practical experience in all aspects of skin care and massage

• Customer Service experience, preferably in a spa.
• Ability to explain various treatments/services to guests.
• Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
• Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
• Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
• Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Strong team player.
• Must be comfortable with product recommendation.

• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods.
• Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, stoop, kneel or reach with body, arms and/or legs.

• Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
• Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
