POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Door Attendant is the first interaction for guests/patrons visiting the hotel and are critical for the arrival and departure process in setting the tone for the guest's entire visit. Working within the Guest Services department, this position will set the bar for guest expectations and will be held accountable for ensuring the Front Drive remains a clean, seamless experience for all.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversees the orchestration of the front drive daily
- Coordinates the valet process of patron's and guest's vehicles on the Front Drive
- Greets approaching vehicles, opens doors and greets all guests entering into the hotel
- Escorts guests within the hotel and offers directions to all hotel outlets as well as local Charleston destinations
- Responds to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing the guest needs and
- requests and then adding personal recommendations and touches to achieve maximum customer satisfaction
- Answers inquiries to hotel policies and services

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of High School Diploma; preferably college degree in hospitality
- Previous hotel/resort experience preferred in a luxury setting
REQUIREMENTS
- As the Doorman is crucial that you follow the hotel's operations standards for the Front Drive. Coordinate the ability to retrieve patron's and guest's vehicles. - Ability to drive all types of vehicles, both manual and automatic
- Passion for hospitality service
- Past hotel/resort experience preferred in a luxury setting
- Previous guest services experience preferred
- Valid South Carolina driver's license with clean driving record
- Varied work schedules, ability to work as it pertains to the needs of hotel guests
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand for long periods on your feet, offer quick retrieval of guests and patron's automobiles
- Possess the ability to remain calm in a stressful, hurried environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and transport/load luggage for a vast majority of their shift
- Work in an outdoor environment with a wide variety of seasonal temperatures
- Ability to drive a variety of automobile types and understand specific car amenities
