Are you a dynamic sales leader with a passion for hospitality? We are seeking an Associate Director of Sales (ADOS) to join our team and work closely with our Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) to drive our hotel's sales strategy and achieve revenue goals.

Position Objective

As the ADOS, you will play a pivotal role in building a clear and credible vision for our sales team. You will balance proactive and reactive selling, maintain and grow key accounts, and develop the sales team. Your strategic sales and revenue leadership will be crucial in maximizing revenue opportunities and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentorship & Training: Mentor and train sales staff, lead recruitment efforts, and conduct sales meetings.
  • Strategic Sales: Incorporate marketing initiatives to support group and catering sales strategies.
  • Market Analysis: Maintain knowledge of the competitive set and make strategic recommendations.
  • Revenue Management: Achieve personal and team revenue goals, manage P&L, and forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue.
  • Customer Relations: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and build strong relationships for future bookings.
  • Leadership: Apply broad business knowledge to generate strategies and lead the organization to achieve them.
  • Sales Strategy Implementation: Follow the annual/quarterly Sales & Marketing Plan with each sales team member and implement tactics to achieve objectives for Group Sales, including Group Rooms Revenue, Group Food & Beverage, meeting room rental, and other incremental revenues.
  • Proactive Selling: Target group accounts, markets, or segments with a heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation. Identify, qualify, and solicit new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
  • Event Management: Accurately forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue (catering and audio-visual) and ensure smooth turnover for service delivery.
  • Industry Engagement: Travel to industry events, participate in sales presentations, property tours, and customer meetings.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend and support Sales and Conference Services department meetings, weekly revenue meetings, and weekly marketing meetings.
  • Data Analysis: Regularly analyze industry reports (STR) and prepare data for strategic sales plans, comp set, and Group Analysis.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction, interact with guests to obtain feedback, and handle guest problems and complaints effectively.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Hotel & Restaurant Management preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of sales leadership in a similar-sized operation at an upscale luxury hotel or resort. Past leadership experience as a Manager is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong negotiating skills, creative selling abilities, advanced customer development, and relationship management skills. Proficiency in software and systems (iVvy, Social Tables, SMS, Microsoft Office).
