Position Summary:
We are seeking an Assistant Director of Finance to join our team and support the Director of Finance in ensuring the resort's financial operations are well-managed and aligned with business objectives. The role will focus on the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting, accounting processes, and compliance with company policies. You will also be responsible for leading a team and ensuring the resort's financial controls are met.

Essential Job Functions:
- Data Accuracy: Review, analyze, and maintain the accuracy of all Property Management System (PMS) and Point of Sales (POS) data posted to the back-office accounting software.
- Training & Support: Provide training to other departments on required accounting procedures and policies, ensuring proper system usage.
- PMS Maintenance: Maintain integrity and accuracy of PMS data, including posting masters, transaction codes, and package setup. Conduct month-end reviews of posting masters.
- Month-End Procedures: Assist in month-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and preparation of closing schedules. Prepare month-end financial reports such as the general ledger.
- Account Reconciliation: Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, including bank accounts and treasury reports.
- Profit & Loss Analysis: Review and analyze monthly Profit & Loss statements for accuracy. Assist in department P&L reviews with managers.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting process and assist with monthly forecasting for various departments.
- Payroll: Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing, including all payroll reporting, journal entries, and time & attendance data. Handle 401(k), garnishments, PTO, and tips allocation.
- Tax Reporting: Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales tax, town tax, and occupancy tax returns.
- Meetings & Reporting: Lead monthly credit and accounting meetings. Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc reports as needed.
- Compliance: Advise management on regulatory and compliance issues and ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred, or at least 4 years of experience in an Assistant Director of Finance role within a hotel.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a hotel accounting or finance role.
- Payroll System: Experience working with ADP Workforce Now.
Skills & Requirements:
- Ability to manage a high workload volume with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing data, figures, and reports.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
