We are currently seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join our team and support the Director of Finance in overseeing the resort's financial operations. This role will focus on ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll, maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, managing accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies. You will also lead a team and ensure that the resort's financial controls are consistently met.

Essential Job Functions:
- Payroll Processing (ADP Required): Oversee bi-weekly payroll using ADP, including payroll reporting, journal entries, time & attendance data, and handling 401(k), garnishments, PTO, and tips allocation.
- Data Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy of Property Management System (PMS) and Point of Sales (POS) data posted to back-office accounting software.
- Training & Support: Train departments on accounting procedures and policies to ensure proper system usage.
- Month-End Procedures: Assist with month-end closing, including journal entries, accruals, and preparing closing schedules and financial reports.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, including bank and treasury reports.
- Profit & Loss Analysis: Review and analyze monthly P&L statements for accuracy and assist in department P&L reviews.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Support annual budgeting and assist with monthly department forecasting.
- Tax Reporting: Prepare and file monthly/quarterly sales, town, and occupancy tax returns.
- Meetings & Reporting: Lead monthly credit and accounting meetings and assist with ad-hoc reporting.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, advising management on regulatory issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- 3-5 years of accounting experience within a hotel
- Strong technical, analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite skills required
- Experience working with ADP Workforce Now.
