What's the job?
The Sr Engineering Project Manager will be a key contributor on the Engineering Team at SageGlass. The primary focus will be on project engineering and management, design, research, prototyping, product and process improvements, engineering documentation, and production equipment improvements and troubleshooting. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality, from conception to completion.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
- Interact with vendors/suppliers: selection, interview, monitor progress, develop solutions, etc
- Perform overall quality control of the work: budget, schedule, plans, and personnel's performance and report regularly on project status
- Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with customer and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
- Participates, as required, in the shared responsibility for all product safety and compliance, as required by Saint Gobain
- Other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
What do you bring?
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
- 6+ years' experience in mechanical engineering, project management, equipment design or related experience required
- Experience with glass related equipment, robotics, vacuum deposition/thin film deposition, or cleanroom experiences is a plus
- Strong DFM (design for manufacturing) skills required
- Well-versed in material properties, compatibilities, and fabrication techniques desirable
- Proven working experience as a project engineer required
- Experience with highly automated factory systems (MES, Control system and HMI knowledge, Safety, Vision systems, KPI, Automated data collection) preferred
- SolidWorks 3D CAD experience preferred
- Experience with DCF payback models like NPV and IRR
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
- Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc
- Decision making ability and leadership skills
- Time management and organization skills
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with capital purchase requests and process
- Presentation skills, be able to persuade an audience.
- Leadership skills with an emphasis on managing without authority
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
