Position Description
Job Summary
The Senior Quality Engineer has direct responsibility for implementing, maintaining, and facilitating continuous qualityimprovement objectives primarily in the Bearings department but also as directed in other areas of the facility.
The application of quality tools (SPC, DOE, FMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, etc.) to meet facility, customer, and quality system requirements is a critical part of this position. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are required in order to interface with customers, operators, and staff. Evaluation of effectiveness of inspection and process control mechanisms is an integral part of this position. Development of systems and procedures, training of personnel in the use of quality tools, and continual monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators is required. May require supervision of at least one technician/inspector.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline
- 5+ years experience as Quality Engineer in automotive parts manufacturing environment
- Experience in developing PPAP submission information and expertise in the applications and implementation of SPC and DOE and in the training of SPC techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Supervisory skills
- Knowledge of MSA
Additional Description
Other functions will include:
Coordinate and respond to customer quality requests/requirements related to bearing products. (Some travel may be required). This includes development and submission of AIAG or customer specific PPAP's.
Report nonconformance condition (either product or process) to appropriate personnel as required.
Identify and implement quality improvements based on facility, customer, and QMS requirements.
Act on Material Review Board (MRB) related to bearing products or as directed.
