Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs one or a combination of the following duties such as: sweeping floors; removing debris; emptying scrap containers; cleaning yard; shoveling snow; unloading raw materials and supplies from railcars, trucks, etc.; cleaning furnaces; moving materials; shoveling sand and other materials. Must be able to drive forklifts and the front-end loader.
Required Qualifications
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Operates a jitney to transport material and equipment in and about Saw and Grind, Packing, and Shipping Departments. Assists other workers in the Saw and Grind Department, as necessary. Operates swing frame grinder, hand grinder and small chipping hammers. Learn and be capable of performing the duties of Machine Operator (S&G) when necessary.

- Stocks molds, mold parts and patterns in storage area in a manner that they will be readily available and easily identified; compiles and maintains records (paper and computerized) regarding location and type of the various patterns, molds and mold parts; pulls patterns and molds from storage and places in hold area according to schedule, or as specified by supervision; disassembles patterns and sorts the pieces; maintains an adequate supply of binder chemicals for mold production
- Identify and prepare materials to be shipped. Pack these materials using the correct pallets and packing methods. Mark each pallet with the proper identification. Move materials to and from the packing line as necessary using a fork lift. Perform all packing duties as necessary, and other duties as required by production demands or to fulfill scheduled hours. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows all safety policies, procedures and programs; is responsible for individual safety and the safety of others.
- Establishes and maintains Company housekeeping standards.
- Abides by the policies, procedures and work rules established by the plant.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- High school diploma, GED
- Ability to work in a team based environment .
- Good reasoning/mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read a tape measure
