Position Description
Job Summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Labourer is responsible for:
- Learning and assisting in a variety of activities throughout the manufacturing plant e.g.: operating a forklift, equipment operation, etc.
- Performing all duties safely and efficiently following company safety standards
- Making equipment and process adjustments to ensure proper specifications for the finished product are met
- Performing quality checks and recording results in production and quality computer database
- Changing settings on equipment during changeovers
- Performing some routine cleaning, inspecting, and minor maintenance on equipment

Required Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum grade 12 education and some post-secondary education preferred
- Must be a team and customer service-oriented individual
- Perform all duties safely and efficiently and follow all company safety standards
- Able to recognize unsafe conditions or hazards in the work area
- Able to work 8 or 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
- Able to maintain a high standard for housekeeping in the work area
- Forklift or mobile equipment experience a plus. Training provided
- Able to learn to operate automated plant manufacturing equipment and recognize deviations from standard operating parameters
- Able to use Windows computers and perform tests on manufactured products according to standard test methods using measurement devices such as tape measures and micrometers
- Must be comfortable with completing written production forms
- Must be able to interact, communicate, and work effectively and professionally with all employees and management staff in a team-oriented environment
- Experience with TPM, WCM, Lean manufacturing, and 5S is an asset.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain, and occasional lifting
- Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards
