Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY: Operate and maintain the plasma reactors and the related equipment in order to produce quality dissociated zircon in a safe manner. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of the Plasma Reactor Process Operator include but are not limited to the following: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Insure that the zircon sand is properly identified and that the screening equipment is in proper working order.2. Transfer, screen and convey zircon sand in preparation for processing through the plasma reactors.3. Start and run the plasma reactors in a safe and efficient manner.4. Replace the carbon graphites in a safe manner when the run status demands it.5. Shut down and clean the walls of the reactors, observing all safety practices.6. Monitor the cooling water system, including changing the filters when appropriate.7. Maintain the torit filter system involving replacement and disposal of the fume silica collection bags and the changing of the filters when required.8. Convey, inspect, grade, weigh and mark the disassociated zircon.9. Maintain all required data logs and sheets.10. Perform all operator required maintenance including but not limited to:a. Cleaning of the heat exchangersb. Cleaning of water cooled leadsc. Changing of inserts11. Inform the relief person of all systems conditions and status.12. Keep Shift Supervisor informed of all matters related to the job responsibilities.13. Exercise good housekeeping habits.14. Observe all safety rules and regulations.15. Assist in other production areas when required.

Required Qualifications
1. Ability to speak, read and write English at high school level and perform basic math functions2. Ability to learn and memorize product codes, package codes and product grades3. Ability to demonstrate good communication skills4. Ability to follow instructions5. Ability to use basic mechanic's hand tools6. Ability to work with limited supervision7. Ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions8. Ability to operate a forklift truck High School diploma or GED equivalent

Physical Requirements:1. Ability to stand, stoop, twist, turn and work over the head2. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds3. Ability to mount/dismount forklift4. Ability to wear a respirator5. Ability to climb long flights of stairs and ladders
