This Plant Manager role provides leadership and direction in the manufacturing and shipping of drywall joint tape in the Junction City, Kansas market, in alignment with the Company's Vision, Mission Statement and Values. You will be responsible for leading and cultivating a culture that values employees, engages everyone in continuous improvement and prioritizes the employee experience as methodology in creating a World Class business.

  • Creates a culture where safety is a value. Goal is to be incident free from an OSHA lost time and recordable perspective.
  • Assures systems are in place to meet Saint Gobain's waste and energy, sustainability goals.
  • Monitors quality systems to assure all products are shipped within targeted specifications.
  • Interacts with direct reports, Supply Chain and Customer Service to assure preferred service.
  • Has basic understanding of product formulation, machine batch sequence and product application in accordance with ASTM and GA specifications. Strong understanding of the mechanical process.
  • Ensures plant personnel or contractors maintain all equipment to meet benchmark targets and environmental standards.
  • Meet cost budgets through the efficient use of all resources.
  • Assures plant have full compliance with company internal financial control standards.
  • Must maintain plant business plans and business continuity plans.

Reports to: Finishing Operations Manager

Fiscal responsibility: $5+ million

Travel: Up to 5%

Supervisory responsibility: direct - up to 4 staff personnel. Indirect: up to 15.

Required Qualifications

What do you bring?

  • BA or BS degree in either engineering or business preferred; or equivalent technical training in a relevant manufacturing environment that provides a comprehensive knowledge of plant leadership and 8-10 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • 5 years of progressive plant leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams and direct reports.
  • Excellent communication, organization and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of computer software: Microsoft Office, Teams, SAP database management, ladder logic and HMI.
  • ERP system knowledge in plant management.
  • Warehouse and inventory management experience including shipping standards to other countries outside the U.S.
