The primary focus of this role is to manage the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets all deadlines. Their duties include managing material and equipment availability, scheduling production and monitoring the production process for problems. This position is responsible for maintaining QAD to provide an accurate MRP for purchasers. This position will also have oversight of the cycle count program and actively work in conjunction with the Shipping Supervisor to improve inventory accuracy and create Kanban systems through production. The incumbent is expected to participate and support in continuous improvement programs established to improve the plant metrics.

Essential Functions include, but not limited to:

  • Manage the production schedule based on material, equipment, and personnel availability
  • Closing Work Orders
  • Maintain material control processes that includes consumption of material at time of use, automated reporting in alignment with production scheduling, implement Kanban where applicable. Develop methods to delivery material to each work center per the production schedule to eliminate need for operators to gather the materials for each work order
  • Oversee the cycle count program that includes counts based on ABC codes and implement measures to improve inventory accuracy
  • Identify and support WCM projects to create savings and best practices related to materials and improve the efficiency of the production flow

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain or other related field.
  • 5+ years' experience working in shipping or inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years experience with an ERP system
  • 5+ years experience with QAD
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skill
  • The individual must be technically knowledgeable, conscientious, detail-oriented with good project management skills.
  • Has additional responsibility to foresee problems/issues, recommend and implement solutions to solve issues and bring the project back on budget and schedule
