Position Description
Job Summary
Final review of custom-made abrasive grinding wheels which includes: Visual inspection of the wheel; Measurement inspection of the wheel using precision measuring instruments, verifying production measurements against customer blueprint measurements; Balance the wheel by using computerized machinery to determine areas that need manual adjustment; Spin test the wheel in computerized test machine; Prepare certification documents; Package the wheel properly and move wheel(s) to shipping area. Sets up and operates engraving machines, making machine adjustments to produce required results. Will do 10-15 set ups a day. Work to exacting tolerances and finish requirements. Gain assistance when faced with operating difficulties. Use precision measuring instruments to confirm conformity to specifications. Cross train on other tasks and machines.

Required Qualifications
"Your Skills Matter" - What do you bring?
- A high school diploma or its equivalency
- Skill and knowledge in set-up, adjustment and operation of machine shop equipment and computerized equipment
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions; possess basic skill in use of arithmetic; and basic computer skills.
- Skill and knowledge necessary in utilizing shop math and measuring instruments
- Must be able to read and interpret Blueprints
- Must be able to convert measurements from Metric to English
- Must be able to write and record detailed entries for record keeping
- Must be certified to use forklift (PIT) or have ability to become certified.
- Must practice safe work habits, maintain equipment and work areas in a 5S environment
- Must have ability to communicate and work effectively with others in a team environment
- Must have experience using a variety of hand tools and power tools
