THIS ROLE IS FOR THE THIRD SHIFT
Supervises the daily activities of maintenance personnel and assists with maintenance project work as assigned. This position provides key leadership to safety, quality, housekeeping and cost reduction while promoting positive employee relations throughout the maintenance organization. Maintenance Supervisors are held accountable to ensure maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, policies, and procedures in a manner consistent with CertainTeed Roofing's requirements and annual deliverables.
- Organize and structure planned and unplanned repairs and preventive maintenance routines in a manner that will ensure efficient operation of equipment and plant operating systems.
- Directly supervise the hourly skilled maintenance employees in the improvement and maintenance of plant equipment, buildings, machinery, utilities, etc.
- Communicate expectations, measure and assess employee performance, provide coaching and development opportunities, and administer disciplinary action if needed.
- Provides input into planning and scheduling of projects.
- Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing, and implementing assigned installation, maintenance and repair activities and coordinating with other departments to assure minimum downtime for production and maximum safety of employees.
- Assist in root-cause analyses as well as implement sustainable countermeasures on losses related to maintenance.
- Ensures Preventive Maintenance (PM) is accomplished in a timely manner and are to a high standard of quality.
- Work with Maintenance Team Members to develop PM's that drive improved reliability.
- Help develop and maintain standard operating and maintenance procedures, and work instructions.
- Maintains records of plant and individual equipment performance.
- Responsible for improving the reliability of the production equipment.
- May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Required Qualifications
What do you bring?
- Minimum of 2 year degree in Technical Field (equivalent experience may be considered)
- 5+ years of Supervisory experience
- Proficient in use of MS Office and windows platforms (familiarity with SAP a plus)
- General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma a plus
- Strong skills in equipment troubleshooting and fault analysis/root cause

Safety & Health:
Follow the CertainTeed Health and Safety Rules, ensure safe operating conditions within the facility and provide key leadership to support the EHS initiatives. Proper use of PPE at all times. Maintain clean and safe working environment in line with the 5S philosophy. Facilitate and/or participate in safety training and safety committee meetings.

Ability to work an minimum of 45 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, vision acuity to see details within a few feet of an observer, accepting of criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with potential stressful situations, sensitivity to other's needs, and have a positive demeanor.

Work Environment:
Manufacturing plant has limited temperature control; dust, fumes, and high noise areas >80db are present inside plant areas. This position may include outdoor tasks in a wide range of climate conditions (Heat/cold/rain...etc). The Manufacturing processes involve granules, silica sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene. Moving equipment such as fork lifts, genie booms and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility.
