Position Description
Job Summary
This position is responsible for safely analysing and correcting electrical machinery malfunctions. The incumbent is also responsible for the safe installation, maintenance and repair of all machine tools, shop tools and maintenance of production and building equipment. Assures the proper maintenance of stock items required to perform the general responsibilities of this position. Required to complete a daily maintenance work log and issue purchase order requests for repair parts.
Required Qualifications
• Troubleshoots, analyzes and repairs electrical controls, PLCs, and motor drives (with or without prints and with limited direction). Inspects, repairs, replaces, installs, adjusts and maintains electrical equipment and machinery as required. Works from machine prints, sketches, manuals and/or verbal directives.• Works with Electrical Engineer to design, update and modify manufacturing equipment.• Schedule and perform periodic inspections of electrical equipment, looking for defects and proactive upgrading of equipment. Determine root cause and perform necessary repairs. Investigate reports of electrical breakdowns and perform necessary repairs.• Performs related miscellaneous work as required. Meet with vendors and work in conjunction with purchasing department. Establishes and assures proper record maintenance. Maintain appropriate supply of spare parts and maintenance supplies (reorder, as required)• Responsible for performing required audits in addition to cleaning, painting and maintaining 5S or other efficiency management programs. Responsible for observing safety precautions at all times.

Additional Description
Must be in current position for 1 year to be considered and have excellent attendance.A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Electrical Machine Repair required. Two (2) year Technical Degree in Electronics is preferred; a High School degree is required. Technical Certificate required. The incumbent must possess knowledge of and experience with PLC programming and programming of AC/DC motor drives. The incumbent must be fully capable of wiring, installing conduit and disconnects and other related electrical components in voltages up to 600 volts. Able to operate electrical switch gears and vacuums switches in voltages up to 600 volts. Must be able to read, interpret and update blueprints, schematics, machine manuals and drawings and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Troubleshooting knowledge and experience as well as mechanical and electrical/electronic aptitude with knowledge of power transmission, bearings and seals and electrical components is a requirement of the position. Analytical and problem solving skills, mechanical aptitude and effective communication skills are required. Must have a demonstrated ability of cooperation, leadership and willingness to assist fellow employees in a team-based work environment. The position is highly visible to all employees. The incumbent must interact with a variety of individuals and departments while exhibiting integrity, knowledge and acting as a role model. A valid forklift, aerial lift and driver's license are preferred. Must have a willingness to work overtime and at times on short notice. Must be willing to carry the maintenance pager and be available to work outside of normal work hours as required on rotation.
