In support of this acquisition Saint-Gobain, has an exciting career opportunity for a Maintenance and engineering manager

What's the job?

The Maintenance and Engineering Manager is a member of the Plant Leadership Team reporting directly to the Plant Manager. Peers include the Production Manager, Quality Manager, and the Warehouse & Logistics Manager.

The Maintenance and Engineering Manager is managing the maintenance and engineering department. He is accountable and responsible for departmental safety, environmental controls, development of the maintenance and engineering employees team, equipment condition and protection, technical reliability, capital departmental cost controls and budgeting He is also in charge of the capital investment program for the site. Participation with other departments to develop and/or analyze strategies to achieve Plant and Corporate objectives including, but not limited to safety, productivity, costs, quality, customer service and team development.

  • To ensure safe working conditions are maintained and improved regarding process plant and infrastructure
  • To ensure business continuity through Site Risk reduction program
  • To ensure environmental impact is minimised and reduced with regard to process plant and infrastructure.
  • To support reduction in Plant Energy consumption through equipment performance
  • To ensure the engineering team is briefed, consulted, trained, and developed to improve plant performance in line with the WCM program
  • To develop and operate a structured WCM approach to maintenance, fully exploiting all opportunities to improve plant reliability.
  • To own the plant reliability KPI's, stratifying the time losses and proposing the improvement activities to reduce the losses.
  • Lead PM and EEM Pillars with strong involvement in AM Pillars
  • To support other continuous improvement activities/pillars
  • To ensure safety audits, risk assessments, SMAT's, OSA's are carried out by the Engineering teams, to the required timescale and standard
  • To ensure WCM methodologies are understood and implemented by all Engineering personnel
  • To control the maintenance budgets, and individual
  • To develop and manage the capital budget and projects for the site, with the support from the local and central engineering team.
  • Delivery of planned capex requirements completed in full, on time and in budget.
  • Capex creation & submission.

Required Qualifications

What do you bring...

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or other related fields of study and/or demonstrated and related equivalent experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • 3-8 years manufacturing maintenance experience leading people
  • Effective team builder with demonstrated abilities
  • Proven history or directing and coordinating business direction
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate all levels of personnel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound understanding of business and engineering concepts as related to manufacturing
  • Sound understanding of analytical and financial issues, costs, and budgets
  • Creating and communicating long term, strategic goals
  • Experience in leading sustainable cultural change
  • Highly motivated and self-directed
