Position Description
Job Summary
The electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, mechanical repairs/fabrication, and repairing electrical systems in an industrial manufacturing setting.
Work location: Portland, OR
Shift: Swing Shift and Graveyard Shift
Sign on Bonus: $10,000
Responsibilities:
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical conditions and faults, PLC's, low-high voltage electrical installations, VFD's and control valves as needed for Plant Maintenance
- Ability to use electrical testing equipment (i.e. meters, ammeters, testers, me ohmmeter, etc.)
- Perform periodic and routine inspections of electrical systems, providing support for system upgrades and replacements
- Inspect newly installed electrical equipment and lighting to ensure safe operation as well as code compliance
- Installation of electrical wiring, panel construction, control systems, and electrical components
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and associated costs as necessary for project tracking utilizing the Plant SAP CMMS
- Participation in employee training as it relates to Compliance, Health and Safety and periodic technical training as it relates to internal development
- Ability to learn and adapt to Roofing Manufacturing equipment and theory of operation
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical code specifications and schematics in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment
- Support continuous manufacturing process with the secondary duty of project and fabrication work. You will participate in troubleshooting repairs in a team-based atmosphere, and repair mechanical equipment, control systems, light facility work

Required Qualifications
Qualifications/Skills
- High School Education or GED (2-3 years of industrial manufacturing experience can be substituted)
- 3-5 years of work experience in the industrial electrical arena (no residential or commercial) including repairs and technical support for industrial equipment, electrical controls and ancillary equipment and/or Industrial Electrical Technical courses in Industrial Technology
- Skilled in all phases of Maintenance to include electrical and mechanical understanding of operation and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to read meters, schematic diagrams, blueprints, rules and other measuring instruments
- General/Plant Journeyman Electrician license
- Oregon LME
- Maintenance Millwright Certification
