The Human Resources Generalist acts as a lead for the Chowchilla, CA plant and is responsible for HR operational functions and delivery of a full spectrum of human resource programs and activities for the hourly and salaried employees. Also ensures an excellent experience for employees and internal customers. The HR Generalist responsibilities include, but are not limited to employee relations, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compensation, Human Resource Information Systems, job evaluations, employee retention and compliance with all applicable laws. The HR generalist role is critical in cultivating a culture of engagement, stakeholder focus and drives continuous improvement in the HR function.

- Responsible for day-to-day HR operational functions, interpretation and coordination of company and HR policies, procedures and programs related to employment, compensation, benefits, leaves, and performance management. Provide benefit support to all employees.
- Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all data in the HRIS systems and HR databases, ensuring credible information is available on a timely basis, including but not limited to all hourly/non-exempt employees, termination, promotion, transfer data, etc...
- Manages Employee Leaves of Absence including but not limited to, tracking and reporting of FMLA and STD activity with TPA (third party administrator), coordinate paperwork and system updates for WC, FMLA and STD absences, generate employee approval letter for FMLA and STD, maintain medical file for Employee, follow up and communicate with the employee as needed with Employee and leave service providers. Initiate change in status within HRIS system as needed.
- Performs analysis including a variety of human resource metrics and benchmarking data. Organizes and ensures the required collection of training data, ensuring all training events, sessions and rosters are documented and captured for annual reporting Assists with the annual internal HR audit to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Coordinate and facilitate training sessions on HR related topics.
- Recruiting, new hire processing and tracking activity as outlined by the company policies and procedures along with presenting the HR/Benefits programs. Conduct New Hire Orientation guiding new employees through onboarding process including explanation of payroll/overtime and policies. Oversees and ensures documentation is completed for functional new hire training.
- Guides and coaches as needed in response to inquiries regarding HR policy, guideline issues, incentives, severance, pre-employment screening, employment verification, holidays, and vacation. Identifies and proactively defuses risk and potential liability with respect to people management issues. Problem solving situations which involve the investigation and resolution of employee relations issues with recommendation for resolution in coordination with appropriate authority.

Required Qualifications
What do you bring?
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a HR Generalist or in a similar HR role
- Bachelor's degree Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Well-versed in local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations
- Proficiency in HR software (HRIS & ATS) and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Strong attention to detail and reporting and analysis
- Excellent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
Additional Description
Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $77,400 to $120,100 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $85,100 to $132,100.
