Position Description
Job Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, we are seeking a Forklift and Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Millwright to join our Mississauga Team. Contributing to our safety first production operations by regularly inspecting, repairing, and maintaining mobile equipment and stationary equipment as required to minimize downtime, and to further advance our continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Maintenance and repair of equipment may include:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on various types of material handling equipment and its components including gas / electrical / propane forklifts and diesel front loader, boom and scissor lift trucks

- Power wash the trucks
- Estimate repair costs
- Perform safety inspection of forklifts before being released to the work floor.
- Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
- Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance
- Manage and order parts at forklift shop
- Inspect and test engines to diagnose and isolate faults
- Adjust, repair, or replace mechanical or electrical system parts
- Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance
- Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
- Clean, test, and fill batteries for electrical forklifts.
- Other duties and tasks as required.
Conditions:
- Working and becoming a member of a unionized work environment.
- Ability to work shifts, 8 hour shifts, 7am to 3pm, overtime eligible.
- Ability to work with and interact with external contractors and suppliers.

Hourly gross wage:
- $44.68 gross per hour
- Overtime eligible

Required Qualifications
- 3 -5 years of experience in forklift and heavy equipment repair
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
License:
- Liquid propane & gas license (Mandatory)
- Trade Certificate re Forklift Mechanic (Mandatory)
- Powered Lift Truck Technician
