Summary
They Buyer/Logistics role will require effective and efficient management of supply related crisis. This role will also coordinate the daily work schedules of the warehouse team members and the Specialty Construction Chemical production area, involved in performing a combination of: shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks, stacking, picking and palletizing finished products, and running Specialty Construction Chemical production.
Job Requirements
- Purchase raw materials and tolled/externally manufactured goods in accordance with MRP demand planning as well as indirect materials (supplies, utilities etc.).
- Assure timely delivery of raw materials from Suppliers
- Communicate risks in supply & generate recovery plans as required
- Maintain adequate stock to support production requirements & safety stock levels
- Assure proper SAP MRP master data settings relevant to Lot Sizing, & Lead-times
- Support plant production scheduling in accordance with MPS forecast planning.
- Build and maintain relationships with S&OP and Supplier key contacts.
- Provide timely forecast of critical raw material to suppliers.
- Ensure proper and timely execution of Purchase orders for all Raw Materials
- Negotiate price and Purchasing terms for raw materials with spend less than $100K year /SKU
- Coordinate purchasing and deliveries of raw materials to toll manufacturers or other GCP Manufacturing sites in accordance with demand planning.
- Coordinate the receipts of materialssupplies to control inventory levels while ensuring supply.
- Reconcile invoice issues to ensure timely payment to suppliers.
- Perform frequent cycle counting to maintain inventory accuracy including toll manufacturers.
- Receives order acknowledgements. Prepares and processes paperwork for shipments, including pick list, test reports, packaging labels, cut letters, bill of ladings, etc.
- Verifies all receiving records for accuracy and completes data entry. Ensures FIFO is being used when storing and pulling finished goods. Coordinates Shipping/Receiving Warehouse employees on order pulling, shipping orders for daily schedule, and advises them on incoming orders. Communicates with shipping vendors to negotiate shipping pricing. Schedules appointments for "Will Call" customers.

Required Qualifications
Minimum Requirement
- High School Diploma or accredited GED
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Purchasing. Experience in purchasing chemicals, Polymers and various film and paper liners would be a plus
- Solid knowledge of Supply Chain procedures (planning, supply management, capacity leveling, product deployment and inventory control)
- Proven ability to effectively interact with multi-functional areas (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, Operations)
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- SAP/MRP, ERP material planning experience
Preferred Requirements
- Previous scheduling experience
- APICS, AST&L, certifications
