Job Summary
Saint-Gobain North America is looking for a Building Science Training Program manager to join the company's Building Science organization. The training program manager is in charge of developing training programs addressing internal building science capability development needs across Saint-Gobain North America's business functions. Although currently defined as an individual contributor role focused on training programs, this highly visible position offers growth opportunities. Following the successful launch of key training program initiatives, this role will evolve to include a technical and/or technical marketing building science component.

- Collect internal building science competency development needs from Saint-Gobain North America business functions through interviews & shadowing of business and function leaders, and individual contributors.
- Perform competitive benchmarking analyses and summarize findings in clear and concise communication.
- Leverage insights generated from interviews & shadowing, competitive benchmarking, as well as own expertise and that of building science team and external partners to develop the strategy and tactics for building science competency development programs.
- Lead the development of competency development programs which entails the orchestration of internal and external expertise to generate and vet technical content, and knowledge acquisition evaluations.
- For programs involving trainee projects, engage with trainees and businesses to define projects that will support knowledge acquisition and generate short-term value for the organization. Structure and monitor projects to ensure success.
- Identify the learning management system that best fits the needs of the organization, deploy, and manage solutions.
- Manage all logistical aspects of running programs and ensure the best possible experience for the trainees.
- Frequently collect feedback from stakeholders through targeted meetings, steering committees, and surveys, and adjust content and/or path forward as relevant.
Competencies
- Knowledge of residential and commercial building construction.
- Knowledge of building science concepts (building structural mechanics, fire protection, IEQ, IAQ, hygrothermal transfer, waterproofing, durability).
- Building Energy Modeling.
- Understanding of and experience with building sustainability programs and metrics is a plus
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, and ability to adjust style and content to the audience.
- Ability to bridge highly technical individuals and non-technical audiences.
- Customer-centric, self-driven and entrepreneurial.
- Decisive, action-oriented attitude; ability to leverage data and information to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysis.
- An understanding of pedagogical concepts.
- A never-ending desire to learn and grow.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in architecture, architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, material science, physics, civil engineering, construction management or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in the AEC community or building material industry.
- 2+ years of experience developing training programs and curriculums.
- Up to 20 % travel.
