Automation Engineer will support, implement, and improve the Automation and Industrialization Engineering department's processes and procedures. Will lead or assist in the designing, building and implementation of internal automation projects, as well as any external automation projects for production and application engineering. Utilization of project management skills to define, plan, track, document and bring projects to successful completion on time. The position also mentors automation interns and other team members.

Required Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, required
  • 3 years' of experience in an Engineering role for Automation Engineer I, required
  • 5+ years' of experience in an Engineering role for Automation Engineer II, required
  • 3+ years' experience in Automation Engineering, required
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD software, required
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in automation, pneumatics & knowledge of controls and programming, required
  • Proven good project management skills-set with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, required
  • Ability to utilize project management leadership skills to move projects through the pipeline working along other team members, preferred

Additional Description

Essential Functions:

  • Designing full automation systems both mechanically and electrically
  • Work with Engineers to integrate automation designs onto the production floor
  • Develop and identify outside vendors for sourcing automation and components
  • Assess current Efficiencies and develop proposals for improvements
  • Develop training materials and programs for support staff for automation that has been implemented
  • Develop operation manuals and procedure for automation systems
