Are you a college student looking to gain hands-on experience in supply chain management? This 12-week internship, starting in May at our Colonial Heights, VA plant, offers the perfect opportunity to dive into the world of logistics and warehouse operations.
The warehouse/logistics intern is the resource that has responsibility and accountability to influence, improve and manage Logistics' supply chain metrics. The scope includes certain aspects of transportation and warehouse team interaction and support to enable and influence improvement in supply chain efficiencies that may include the following focus areas: support customer demand and production planning, customer service objectives, order pattern improvements, fines and fees reductions, and transportation and distribution efficiencies. This internship isn't just about observing - it's about taking action and driving meaningful change. You'll collaborate with customers to provide valuable insights that lead to greater efficiency and reduced supply chain costs. Dip Into Your Role
- Utilize our internal reporting capabilities to action collaboration and recommendations with internal departments including Supply Chain, Customer Service, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Distribution and Transportation to ensure Sabra meets internal and external customer objectives including process improvements, cost reductions, service issue resolution, and efficiencies.
- Learn warehouse operations and processes in a hands-on environment
- Work closely with warehouse supervisors and management to develop practical solutions to problems without sacrificing quality
- Analyze opportunities for growth, cutting costs, reducing damages, and improving efficiencies
Recipe for Success
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, economics or a recent graduate of a similar program
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment a strong plus
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, SAP Preferred
- Demonstrated clear communication skills
- Strategic, analytical, and creative thinking skills
- Demonstrated leadership initiative through studies or extracurricular activities
- Ability to manage assigned tasks and small projects per scope and timeline
- Organized with a task and deadline oriented mindset
- While this role will work fairly standard business hours, there may be an occasional need to work a night or cross-shift to cover a trial project
